Churchills Fish & Chips Bracknell — Restaurant in England

To be fair, Bracknell is very poor for take away food, but this place takes the biscuit. If i could give less that 1 star I would. It was bad when it was Fish n Chicken, but impossibly it has got worse.

The quality of their potatoes is appalling lots of black and green chips. I don't know how it is possible that they can manage to make a potato taste so bad, I mean really how can you mess up cooking chips?

I think that as well as being under cooked, the chips are kept too long, they taste utterly disgusting. The Large fish is small as well. If you use low quality potatoes you will have low quality disgusting chips. If you keep them longer than you should, they will taste disgusting. If you under-cook them, they will equally taste disgusting

On top of that, if you order a large chips they give you a small portion, which i guess given the quality of the food on offer is a blessing.

If I order Large fish and Large chips I dont expect you to pull the old, "Put the fish in the box first and sprinkle it with 6 chips con", that's not what I paid for. In fact, you should stop serving fish and chips in the box if you are going to scam your customers.

This is such a bad chip shop. I don't understand how it gets the high review that it does, I can only assume that they are...

Work experience I've ever had.

Asked the young man for a OAP Cod & Chips for my nan, asked for it to be packed separately as that is how she likes it.

He told me he can not pack them separately. When asked why he said he said "well it is a waste if a box".

If a customer is asking you for a asking you for a requirement it should have been done or said there is a charge for the box and I would have paid for an extra box if that is the issue? But to tell me its a waste of a box is ridiculous!

Left with a small chips instead.

Unfortunately had to go back and get a medium chips after putting the small in the car as the small was a tiny all in all about 15chips.

Walked in asked for a medium chips, the same server then said "we only do a Regular or a Large?" Obviously its a "Regular" when I just bought a small and and I clearly didn't ask for a large. So apologies if I used terminology you were unfamiliar with, I didnt think I was ordering by giving you a riddle to answer.

I can only hope he didn't not speak to the 3 OAPs who walked in before me with the same attitude and condensing tone.

The second time I have arrived after finishing work & within Churchill's stated business hours (just after 9pm) to be told they've shut the gluten free fryers down.

This time though they took my order & payment (after me stood there waiting) before telling me I couldn't have gluten free cod & chips after all.

Then as I proceed to get a refund, they tell me I can come back the next eve as its gluten free again. Yes but its not the Marvellous Monday deal is it on Tuesday!. Its not local to me either, so i had gone out my way to treat myself.

Then I get offered some leftover gluten free chips & I reluctantly pay £2.99 for chips instead as I was hungry. What I actually got was a miserly portion of dried up & cold scraps of chips. On another occasion when I succeeded in getting gluten free cod it was full of bones anyway.

A shame really as I was initially excited about the prospect of being able to have gluten free fish & chips as a treat but I don't feel like I can bothered now nor is my...
