Was given a steak Pasty when we had ordered a vegan pasty for my 12 yr old daughter. She ate some before realising, having not eaten meat for 5 years she was devastated and crying. I’m vegan so for me it was disgusting that this had happened. I’ve never encountered this happening before. The 2 members of staff hardly made eye contact with me, gave me a vegan one and threw the meat one into the bin, whilst indignantly saying they didn’t know how that happened. I stood paused waiting for some type of sincere apology. All we got was a casual ‘sorry’ shouted to my back literally as we left through the door. I was appalled and upset, terrible disregard and disrespect for customers. My daughter felt like she had been cheated. Offer Vegan options if you are going to take it seriously and respect your customers. Not just to make more money on what is already over inflated. Needless to say, we won’t be going back ever, and we visit Polzeath every year. I don’t suppose the staff there will be remotely bothered...

Shocking service – avoid this place at all costs. The blonde lady in the blue top (manager/owner) was unbelievably rude. All I asked was if she could kindly put a plastic cup in her bin, and her response was “I have to pay to take it away – take it back where you got it from.” Completely disgraceful manners.
I also stated that kindness goes a very long way and her response was not in my world
If that’s how she treats customers, I dread to think how she treats her staff – who were just as rude and dismissive. The whole atmosphere is unpleasant, unfriendly, and unwelcoming.
This isn’t how you run a business. I would strongly recommend avoiding purchasing anything here. Plenty of other local shops nearby will give you the respect and kindness you deserve.

Read moreWe visited cone zone at the beginning of our holiday. They had run out of waffle cones so without checking we were willing to pay more served in a chocolate waffle cone and my 13 yr old daughter wasn't confident enough to challenge the extra charge. To add to it, the portion was tiny and ice cream not very cold so it melted before it could be eaten. Thankfully soonafter we discovered Wavehunters Gelato served from their beach van, home made locally and you get about double the quantity for the same price or less and it was far tastier. And the staff were fairly miserable in cone zone, but smiling and happy in...
