Costa Coffee — Restaurant in England

This place just gets worse. Costa coffee in Peterlee are charging top notch prices for mediocre coffee delivered in a scruffy environment. Toilets are in dire need of a good clean and redecoration. Behind the counter area is untidy and quite grubby. The card machine hadn't worked for over 3 weeks when we called and then at the same time the dishwasher was out of action so paid top price for paper cups. The staff are not unpleasant but need to ensure that the tables are cleared promptly and that the place is kept clean and tidy. This is the worst Costa we have been in. The staff here are great and prepare orders for the loyal regulars as soon as they enter. Always a quality cup of delicious coffee served. Sadly, it doesn't appear as if the business owner is supportive of them. There doesn't appear to be enough staff, the place is ridiculously cold on a morning making it unpleasant to sit and there are no longer even paper napkins available, unless on request. Not what one expects from an upmarket coffee shop. This definitely detracts from the expected experience and is why 'atmosphere' has been rated low. Don't know why i go back gets worse not better. Dirty tables and every time i have used the disabled toilet i have had to quietly speak to a member of staff to advise of the filthy state. I am not just on about the toilet itself but the sink floor and inside of the door. Also lack of toilet paper. Surely this should be inspected every hourand when closed on a night a thorough clean all surfaces including the inside of the door. It actually looks if has not been touched for month's. I have worked in catering myself and we took turns to come off the kitcken, counter and food side and clean toilets. Or is this...
