Costa Coffee — Restaurant in England

FAITH RESTORED !!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been using this Costa coffee since opening day, I have got to know Rob the store Manager and his team well since then, however in August I visited my local site Costa Saltash and it wasn't good at all, It really surprised me as this site before now has always been spotless with amazing food and drink standards, my visit was on 21st of August and I was so confused by the standards on display I asked to see Rob the store Manager, One of the staff a female approx. 34 years old with loads of tattoos on her arms I think her name badge said Robyn? grunted at me and said he's on holiday. I realised immediately that the boss was not around, dirty tables, staff doing very little, queues of customers, empty fridges etc.... However I returned last week and the place is back to normal operating standards, immaculately clean tables, happy staff, quick service , brilliant availability on food, I had a catch up with Rob the store Manager and he apologised about the standards I witnessed in August and explained that he was working on recruitment and assured me Costa Saltash was back to its best and I must say I...

I like Costa's normally and I've been in this one a few times now. I've given it time to bed in and the new staff get accustomed to the new environment however, things need to improve.

Staff have a lack of customer care and I find that concerning. A couple of times I've been victim of getting the wrong drink because the staff were chatting in between taking orders and quickly forgetting what I, the customer, requested. I've seen this happen to other customers too who are more apologetic than the staff ever are.

Today, i had to shout through to the back room to get a server to take orders, the place was deserted behind the counter even though there was plenty of customers in.

I also noticed a regular lack of etiquette when placing drinks on the tray. Typically holding the cup near the lip, thereby impinging basic hygiene principles. When noting this to staff, I was not popular!

I'm a fan of Costa and live in Saltash but will give this a wise berth for now until staff are suitably trained...

Come in 3 evenings during the week, mostly in drive thru. Never have to wait too long to get my drinks and always taste how I expect, always hot enough, and sometimes my order can be a little complicated, they never get it wrong. I normally am served by Holly who’s customer service is great, she is always polite and friendly and always interacts with my daughter (she now asks to go to Costa to see holly), Harrison the barista in training is always very friendly too. I came in today and Miles (I’m pretty certain that was his name a cool guy was very friendly too, I cannot fault the staff here. Throughout covid a nice warm coffee at the end Of the day served with a smile always brightens mine and my children’s day! So thanx so much...
