AVOID Where the heck to start! You walk in and there is no atmosphere. No greets you, you just got and say your name. Member of staff stuffing her face in the most dignified way possible-NOT! Your then pointed out your table from the bar. No problem it was only us eating so it wasn't hard to find and only reserved ( that was our 4th clue to this was going to be awful) my son needed the loo, off he went and couldn't get in and nearly had an accident because the door was locked? Then your greeted with the server. I think he cooked the food in the grease from his hair, it was all but dripping. Food was dry, meat was "covered" with tin foil I use to term cover loosely. Got our food went back to the table, I was already put off, new I should if at the first sight if the server walked away but anyway took a but and the most was cold, certain the gammon wasn't cooked it had a raw meat texture to it. Yorkers were nice everything else horrendous. My sons chicken goujons were rock hard, certainly cooked that's for sure- a week ago!! We spent £47!!!! Absolutely disgusting none if us ate it. Toby Carvery is £10 more and that's with deserts. NEVER AGAIN WILL WE STEP FOOT IN THIS PLACE. ITS...

We booked a round table by the window for 12-30pm. When we got there someone was already sitting there, also they had no booking in the book. We ordered our drinks and 15minutes later they came after I went to the bar and asked where they were and could we ordered food. We arrived at 12-30pm and got food at 1-45pm. The Lasagne was good, the gammon steak was tough and they replaced it , the scampi was not of a good standard and chips were not great. Our table was sticky and I cleaned it and when I had my second drink the girl gave it to me and said hum. The service was very slow. We were not the only one's other people where asking were their food was, one man asked for him money back.( he only ordered Natchos) . Sorry but you need to train your staff that customers come first . Until I hear you have improved we will not be coming...

The ploughboy is situated at the top of saltash in Cornwall close to A38. They have a good sized car park so that shouldn't be a problem. The outside of the pub looks quite nice. And at the back there's a fenced beer garden with frames for children to play in. Inside its quite nice with a lot of seating. There is a reasonable selection of drinks. Looks like an old style pub. They do food with a varied selection of pub grub. It's not an extensive menu so shouldn't boggle the mind in selecting. I had soup of the day which came out nice and hot and was very tasty. Then a chicken tikka with nan and popadom this was also hot and tasty. If I have a tiny gripe and is my thought only it could have done with a dip. The toilet area was quite clean not many places can boast that. All in all a good experience....

Nice little pub in Saltash. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Play area for children. Food served. Toilets and baby change available. We went on a monday at 12. Sat outside so the children could play. Took. While for anyone to come out and take our order. We ordered food and was told there was a short wait despite it being relatively quiet. That was fine. The food took over an hour to come out.. Was very well presented, great portion size and value for money. My only criticism is that the chicken was very dry all down one side on all 3 of the chicken burgers. And the first order came out and was finished before the last three meals came out.

Whenever we are in Saltash, The Ploughboy is a must visit with the family. The fabulous prices of both the drinks and the food make it a very great family eatery. We feed and water a family of 6 for less than £100 on average. Only disappointment on our last visit was that they have revamped the menu and removed some of our favourite items (including their outstanding Peppercorn sauce). We will definitely revisit when next in Saltash!
