Bakers Cornish Bakehouse — Restaurant in England

First visit today, having read some great reviews on a BookFace pasty group. My wife had a traditional steak, and I chose a traditional with extra gravy. They were scolding hot, so we chose to drive down to the riverside and eat them. Pastry was flaky and a little crunchy. The ingredients were a lovely balance, with great seasoning and just enough pepper. The extra gravy one was incredibly moist, but my wife also thoroughly enjoyed the standard traditional. A definite 9/10 from me and well worth a trip over the water from Plymouth too. Will be back very soon !!

Update: We went back a few days ago. We had friends staying, so we called in advance to check they had what we wanted and the lady put it back for us until we arrived (thank you). One of our party hand a lamb and mint pie and...

I don’t know what sorcery is happening in that kitchen, but I bit into a steak pasty and briefly forgot my own name. My soul left my body, hovered above the counter, and whispered, “This is it. This is the peak of existence.” The crust? Buttery and flaky like the dreams of angels. The filling? Rich, hearty, and suspiciously addictive—are you putting tiny hugs in there?

I came in for a quick snack and left with a new lease on life, and possibly a minor case of emotional dependence on your pastry...

I really don't want to tell anyone how great the Lamb pies are because when we want them there won't be any but I have to say that they are the most delicious pies we have ever had My husband says he doesn't ever want to finish it because that means we have to wait for the next time. Love love...
