Costa Coffee — Restaurant in England

We visit this Costa fairly regularly and usually have a great experience. However today we were shocked by how the staff treated a new member of the team. There was a new young lady working today and she said it was her first day. She was clearly struggling operating the till and instead of either of the two other staff helping her, they just did it for her and didn't speak a single word to her. We noticed that the whole time we were there they didn't speak to this young lady at all and that is absolutely no way to treat anyone, especially a new member of your team who clearly needs guidance.

I was also over charged on my wrap which was supposed to be 50% off and I believe I was given a small frappe when I ordered and paid for a medium. This is by no fault of the new employee because if these other staff members took the time to talk to her and help her it would have been done correctly. I didn't confront them about the charges as I was concerned about the young girl getting the blame.

Really...

We ordered a refresher drink and a hot chocolate which was nearly £9. The service was poor and the quality of drink for that money is bad. The hot chocolate was okay tasted normal however the lady never asked me if I wanted cream and marshmallows so I asked for cream when she handed me my drink and she replied with “that’s extra money” so I didn’t bother. The refresher drink had 1 tiny drop of flavour in, ice was filled to the top of the glass and then she just filled the glass with tap water, it tasted awful. Nearly £4 for a drink that’s just ice and tap water is shocking and if the ice was removed it would have only been half way full but you’re paying more money for a larger size and what should be an enjoyable drink. And the toilets were absolutely shocking! The toilet seat was broken on the floor, dirty tissue all over the floor and water where someone could slip over. Those toilet conditions is where people get ill and they clearly don’t clean these toilets properly...

Absolutely disgusting! I will never go into this Costas again. The one waiter was wiping tables mess onto the floor so the floor was filthy and horrible to walk on. Just about every table was full of people's stuff that had left. When I went to the loo, I had to walk straight out again, both toilets were blocked and full, unchecked all day by the looks of it as there was rubbish everywhere and the stench was appalling. I asked for a coffee with no lid and I was going outside. The barista said for H&S reasons you have to have a lid! I have never heard that anywhere else and it's a waste of damn plastic anyway. There were 3 members of staff one of which went on a break, obviously not enough. When I told him about the toilets he just grunted. I think this place should close down, it was like walking into a...
