Costa Coffee — Restaurant in England

Young Woman who served me today I found rude (29/03/25). I asked her to scan the Vodafone deal I have for a £1 coffee, then she said a higher price - I asked her but it should be £1 and she then explained it’s for high st costas- which is all fine- although it should’ve been mentioned before saying the price. I then asked her to scan my costa card and she said she couldn’t then and would have to after I paid. I said ok she said she’ll be back in 2 seconds- she hadn’t put the payment to the card machine and her coworker came back and asked “are you gonna pay the balance now?” And I said I’m waiting for her as she went and it’s not showing on the card machine. The other worker then defended herself about going to make sure the sandwiches don’t burn -with an attitude- which I said yeah that’s fine I just need to pay etc. When the process came to the end my drink was waiting there and she had served another 2 drinks nicely to the other customer - handing it to them- and pointed at mine saying that’s yours.. showing a great equal service there... I couldn’t help but laugh about the pettiness and then she went on to say why you laughing as I was walking away. Horrible service to say the least. Could be nice to someone else and hand them their drinks while giving just me an attitude. After 8 years in customer service myself- this person should not be in hospitality or customer facing jobs if this is the quality of service...

A really welcomed stop after a long drive, situated within a complex of services side by side.

Good selection of snacks and drinks, lots of seating, good outdoor area, adequate parking, there's also toilet facilties and a WHS to buy news papers.

It's very popular so do expect a que, sadly the staff are rushed off their feet due to the popularity of Costa having to make many coffees in a very short period of time.

I think it's our job as customers to be patient as we will get served. It does calm down depending what time of day you arrive.

Thank goodness we have places to stop relax, refresh and refule, back to the A1 now ready for the rest of the journey to Scotland...

Really regret coming in. Stopped at the services just to buy water, unfortunately we made the terrible decision to get a quick bite from costa while there. Heating up one bacon bap took them 20min, my iced Carmel coffee had no coffee in it...after checking with the server that it will contain it. £10 down the drain and turned a 5min pit stop into a 30...
