I really, really enjoy coming to this place. It's a pub, but it's also a restaurant. We recently had a Sunday lunch from here on a takeout and it was absolutely stunning. The taste was just beaut, so don't be thinking all you get is Italian food!
Tonight we had quite the feast, which we don't normally do. We just want to help support local business and help revive a little bit of normality in our lives so coming here really did help.
We booked a table very easily on the phone and arrived at 6pm. We got seated and the place was quiet so no problems getting in. Everything is being done by the book and you're totally looked after, no chance at all of cross-contamination or catching anything here! They have it locked on.
Our starters of Pane Cassereccio (bread and olives) , Bucce de Patate (potato skins) and Formaggio di Capra (goats cheese balls) were just amazing, I cannot describe just how amazing each dish tasted and all we're very well presented (see photos).
We moved on to our mains and I ordered the Chicken Parmesan with added Beef and Jalapeños which was just immense. It was an absolutely huge dish with chunky chips (I didn't finish so took home the leftovers!) my Mrs had the Halloumi Salad which was incredible (also see photos). My daughter took the Spinach & Ricotta Tortelloni which was a little too al-dente for her liking, a little floury but I thought it had unique taste although again agreed it was slightly undercooked. No deals, we took that home too so will be re-heating and I'm confident it will taste better second time round! My Mother-in-law decided on the Carbonara and that was again a fabulous dish. She couldn't finish that one (we all had a few fork fulls!) so please know if you come here you will not leave hungry!
My eldest decided on having a dessert and chose the chocolate orange cake with ice cream and the texture was moist, soft and the taste was brill. The coupled ice cream added a great dynamic to the dish bouncing the zest of the cake's sweetness. We finished that one 😂
All-in the food was class, we will be back and can't wait to come again. We just hope the place manages to survive having such a hard time through this pandemic! We can but try. The manager spoke of his works to the rear with a new seated canopy and open space which we didn't have chance to check out but will be sure to come back and see.
Oh, I got to try a very strong double IPA from the bar and my god, if you like an ale, you will love this! Hoppy with strong citrus flavours but it doesn't taste like the 8+% ABV that it is. I'm sure to have a pint of this next time 🍻😊
The place has had a real nice lick of paint all through and a little rearrange, even the toilets have a lovely fresh feel to them that's brightened the spot up a treat.
Go check this little gem out, you simply cannot go wrong.

Read moreI am disappointed to have to leave this review, in the past I have reviewed this restaurant 5 stars. However on the being of 23.08.21 we were displeased, we were made aware that they were low on chef staff, which is absolutely understandable and we would be happy to be patient as we know the food is ridiculously delicious (which it still was that night). It might have been nice to be told at the start that it would be at least 40mins wait for food. It took an hour after arriving for starters to come, then a further 45-50 mins for mains. It hasn't been like that in the past with this place, it has always been pretty good and swift. We have been many times before and loved the Italian farm house.
The thing that was disappointing was that the service staff were not present to receive drinks orders, even when it was clear they they were not busy bringing out food because no one in the restaurant was being served. Having a tough night with the kitchen being understaffed is easily disguised by service staff being around to take drinks orders and clearing tables.
When bringing a pasta dish it is usually really nice to have parmesan cheese and not have to wait another 20 mins for it to come, after it was already clear that the food had been sitting under the hot lamps for a good while.
Saying that, the food was delicious, staff seemed kind, however they could have used direction from a floor manager. There didn't seem to be any organisation, no specific member of staff per area and communication getting...
Read moreWe recently visited Farmhouse Dine and Wine at Parkhill, and it was an absolutely brilliant experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, relaxed, and welcoming — a perfect mix of rustic charm and modern style. Whether you’re going for a casual meal or something a bit more special, it strikes just the right balance.
The menu offers a great selection, with something for everyone — from hearty, homemade classics to beautifully presented mains with a bit of flair. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection. The meat was tender, the portions were generous, and the flavours were spot on. You can tell they take pride in using quality ingredients.
The service was just as impressive as the food. The staff were friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and happy to offer recommendations when we asked. They really made the experience feel personal and enjoyable.
We finished off with a dessert that was just as good as the mains — a proper indulgent treat that left us full and happy. It’s now one of our favourite local places to eat and unwind.
If you haven’t been to Farmhouse Dine and Wine yet, definitely give it a try — a proper hidden gem...
