Quiet and a bit of a hike to get there, Steephill Cove was a lovely find. Quiet and unjust, people clearly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of this quintessentially English cove - it could easily have been a little smugglers cove so popular in the rocky seascape of N Cornwall. But it was in sunny IOW and the facilities were good - stand alone loos, a pretty comprehensive coffee shop - The Cove - with coffes galore, ice cream and numerous incidentals. All the staff were lovely and relaxed, all very laid back and se-stressong. Theres something about a coffee by the sea, the warmth of the latte mingling serenely with the ebb and flow of waves breaking on the small but nicely formed beach. After a while we fancied an ice cream but ended up e enjoying a "Gin and Tonic" ice lolly, Calippo style. Would never get you tipsy but really quite refreshing, just like the ambience of Steephill Cove....
