Beautiful venue, absolutely appalling service and incredibly overpriced. After waiting for over 20 minutes for the two people in front of me in the queue to be served with a relatively simple drinks order, I placed my order with the most disinterested staff member. All of the staff members sauntered around like they had all the time on the world, the despite queue of 7 people behind me, with absolutely no sense of urgency, no awareness of the length of time customers were queuing for, and an inability to multitask. A woman in the queue behind me left without being served as she had grown fed up with waiting. Whilst the terrace was lovely and had beautiful views over the botanical gardens, every empty table was stacked high with dirty pots and customers were having to clear tables themselves before sitting down to consume their purchases. The drinks were small and ridiculously overpriced for what they were, and I can't believe how utterly disappointing and shoddy the whole experience was. Whilst the venue itself gets this review up to 2 stars, the service and value alone would have been a definite 1...

Plenty of parking and an excellent farm shop next door to the cafe for post-lunch shopping! There was plenty of space as the cafe is surprisingly large but it was pleasantly busy with a lunchtime vibe. We were immediately greeted by very friendly staff, shown to a table and brought menus. Lunch and drinks arrived quite quickly but everything was home-made and freshly cooked. I had a veggie quiche which was delicious and my husband had a burger which was very substantial. We particularly loved the chips which were crunchy but not greasy at all. For a quick bite of lunch it was perfect, but actually somewhere that I would got to meet friends too as it is ideal to have a leisurely coffee with scrummy looking cake or perhaps brunch. They do close at 3.30pm so more of an earlier in the day venue. Very impressed with this new venue, and hope they are very successful, which they...
Read moreToday, we had the pleasure of visiting The Plantation Room Cafe, which accommodated my gluten and dairy allergies exceptionally well. Graham, who assisted me, was not only attentive to my dietary requirements but also very personable. The salad was delightful—I could have easily gone back for more. The customer service provided by Graham was outstanding; he engaged us in conversation about the island and all the amenities the venue offers, clearly showcasing his passion for his work. Although we had already planned our day and were merely stopping by for a takeaway lunch, we are looking forward to returning to the Isle of Wight and...
