I was there with my friend from Kenya who was visiting me in the UK for the first time. We decided to go to cuckoo cafe to catch up around a nice cup of coffee because it seemed to have nice reviews. Well… those positive reviews could NOT be further from the truth in our experience. My friend is a germophobe so we asked if they could make sure his coffee was made in the cleanest way possible (to the best of their ability of course). They said they could « try their best to accommodate for that ». The coffee was prepared but when it was brought to us by the woman with the bowl cut, she sneezed straight into our coffees and still decided to serve them to us. Read moreAfter a lovely dog walk in Grovely woods we had decided to go to Monty and Mabels as it was dog friendly and we were excited to try it! They couldn't have been more rude or less accommodating of our group of 8 despite being almost empty. They wouldn't allow us to move a single chair to allow our kids to sit together and advised we go to Coffee Darling across the road. So pleased that we did! The staff were all friendly, accommodating and looked after us and the dogs so well! The food was so lovely, freshly prepared and service was great. We will definitely be back as i am now dying to try your home cured bacon!! We will be giving Monty and Mabels a very wide berth in the future and heading straight to Coffee...

It was pretty disappointing to see Maxine picking up sausages, bread, and tomatoes from the One Stop across the road. Cuckoo claim to offer fresh products and they certainly charge for fresh food, not for One Stop produce! The staff didn’t seem at all welcoming, especially towards our kids. To top it off, their dog was constantly scratching and biting its own tail, which is hardly reassuring when it comes to hygiene standards. As for the coffee, it was subpar, the milk was burnt and the waitress spilt half of them walking over to us. Overall, a really underwhelming experience. We won’t...
