Before lockdown, me and my family would eat at Danny's frequently, and would order from them once every few weeks. Food is amazing. The only issue is their delivery service (especially during lockdown, although completely understandable). I'm not going to downvote them though.

Pre-lockdown: they have only one phone line that would take 8-10 attempts to get through. Once through, you make the order and if paying by card, you have to give your card details over the phone which I think is extremely dangerous and outdated. This definitely needs an upgrade. Food would arrive within 20-30 minutes which is great.

Post-lockdown: they are now on Deliveroo (which is long overdue) but I believe they only accept Deliveroo pre-orders before 5pm as I haven't been able to get through via telephone for the past three whole weeks, and everytime I'm on Deliveroo after 5pm, it states Danny's as 'opening later'. They've said they're open 12pm-9pm but I've had "line busy" every single time, which makes me believe they're literally disconnecting the phone. Again, very understandable and it's not the end of the world, but would prefer some better communication on how to order...

TAKEAWAY : Order: beef chow mein, wonton soup (£11.95) overall experience 4.2/5 certainly a tasty little takeaway meal, polite promp service. The food was tasty.

Won ton soup: 4.6/5 very pleasant soup, prawn dumplings were lovely, had a nice full flavour, i loved the addition of the bok choy only wish there was more bok choy in there, i will very likely be ordering this again

beef chow mein: 4.2/5 very tasty, loved the veg, beef was tender and well flavoured, I've had better sure, but they were nice, perhaps a little more salty/MSG for my personal liking but not unpleasant. The takeaway was served in a metal box, I don't like metal boxes for noodles, though i couldn't taste any flavour from the metal box but i’m very wary of metal boxes for this sort of absorbent food ; (I've had bad experiences in the past with other restaurants using cheap metal boxes to serve the takeaway noodles and it flavouring the noodle, i prefer a plastic or paper box personally for noodles, so for this reason i likely won't get noodles from this place again, but that wouldnt be a concern if you...

Yet again the most incredible food at what is definitely the Best restaurant in Brighton considering they had the most entitled rude obnoxious party of 26 people who ruined the atmosphere of the restaurant with the worst poorly behaved children I have ever seen in my life, the parents weren’t that much better, in fact they were worse, allowing their children to run riot, putting cigarettes in glasses of Coke, The epitome of classless behaviour and oblivious to anyone in the room but themselves, the staff worked so hard serving them for three hours and were met with abrupt rudeness and as expected and predicted, as soon as money was involved suddenly their attitude changed, a collective applause when they finally left the restaurant Congratulations to the staff for surviving the chaos that they brought on you and you all deserve a very big tip, it’s just a shame it didn’t...

Had family lunch here today - and couldn’t be happier. We booked a late table, and with the kitchen closing at 4 we were still ordering dishes at 4pm. But they kindly kept the kitchen open to prepare them for us, with no complaints. Very friendly, professional and helpful staff, with timely arrival of food. We ate a LOT! And they were always happy to bring us more. The Menu isn’t huge, which I felt was good. The quality of everything we ate was 10/10. And I felt good value at £29.95 a head for as much as you want. And the restaurant has a nice feel. Do visit - places like this need our support in these difficult times. We’ll definitely be back

We had a first table booking and travelled the long way to try. So very impressed with the amount and quality of the starters. Salt pepper ribs and soft shell crab. Firstly the soft shell crab was huge. But both dishes were very tasty. The best quality salt pepper ribs I’ve had. We ordered crispy lamb and pork belly and special fried rice. I think the price was ok for the main dishes. However the rice was unseasoned the lamb like bullets and the pork belly bland. Huge let down in main courses. We were glad we did the first table discount. It a shame we live so far away not to be able to carry on trying their starters. Overall disappointing.
