Awful food and takeaway service on 22nd November 2019 from Delhi Spice in Chalfont St. Peter. My partner ordered a meal for collection via ‘chefonline’ at 18:30hrs. When submitting the order it said the food would be ready for collection at 19:05hrs. We called Delhi Spice at 19:00hrs to confirm the order would be ready. The two people we spoke to were totally disorganised and after a few mins of fumbling around they said that the order would be another 25-30 mins. We suspect that the order hadn’t even been noticed and hadn’t been passed to the kitchen. This is not the first time we have experienced delays after placing orders online. I went to the restaurant at 19:30hrs and was told it would be another 5 mins. After a further 15 mins of waiting my order finally came out. I asked the server why it had taken so long and he said that it was Friday and they were busy (the restaurant was only half full). Irrelevant of being busy why did it say online that the order would be ready at 19:05hrs and I didn’t actually get it until 19:45hrs. On getting home we opened up the food.... Chicken Mysore - when eating this I came across a piece of meat that was tougher than the rest and then came across a rib bone. I know this bone was not chicken - I suspect it is pork. I ordered chicken - why on earth is their another animals rib bone and chunks of meat in my curry? What if for religious or allergic reasons I didn’t eat pork? I attach a photograph showing the bone standing up in the curry. Garlic rice - As can be seen in the photo, we received mushroom rice rather than garlic rice. We do not eat mushrooms so didn’t eat it. Onion bhajis - these were only just warm (not hot). Butter chicken - this was insipid in colour and tasteless. I emailed the restaurant with the above feedback, but received no reply, hence posting on here. We have no intention on returning.

Great place, staff are really nice and the food is excellent. The Wednesday night offer is incredibly good value and highly recommended (see photo of the offer). They are also very flexible with adapting the meals in case you had an idea you wanted to try out. My friends and I will certainly be coming back again soon!! If you’re looking for inspiration then try out the Railway Lamb!

Without doubt one of the best curry houses I’ve visited, and I’ve been to the best in London. This is a fantastic restaurant with lovely staff. The buffet night is crazy value. I’m not saying when, so I can have an amazing Sunday night out🫢

Delhi Spice is fun, different, and apparently (I am told) authentically Brasilian. For $30, there's a buffet of salads, cheeses, vegetables, etc. to start, and then--when you're ready for the meat--you flip a round tag green-side-up and servers start coming to your table with spits of roasted meats. There are many different cuts of beef prepared in various ways, lamb, pork, poultry, and fish. The servers, in what I imagine are traditional costumes, cut the pieces you wish, and you then use tongs to pull the slices from the spit onto your plate. You can eat all you want as the servers periodically keep coming round and offering more. (When you're sated, just flip the tag red-side-up, and the servers won't both you; unless, of course, you subsequently flip the tag green-side-up again, in which case they'll start coming back with more.)

The combination of quantity and festive atmosphere more than offsets the inconsistent food quality, though some of the meats are quite good. When we went with friends the top-round and lamb were very good, the skirt steak and chicken also good. The fish was dreadful, but hey--it's really a meat place! And once you find things you like, you can pile your plate high. They also provide complimentary fried bananas (excellent) and mashed potatoes.

Dessert, in the highly unlikely event you have room, is an extra charge, and the selections look nice. Alternatively, for no extra charge, you can go back to the buffet and have...

Lets start with few things first, I saw high number of reviews so I thought why not let's order few things to see the hype and what a mistake I made. I clearly understand why the reviews are mostly made by westerners who I believe may have not tried other restaurants which understands and know how to create a carefully crafted food in gourmet Indian styled dishes which are within Michelin-starred category. Back to feedback I placed my order from hunger house without any issues, received a email confirmation with delivery time as 19:31 which I thought that's was great just before the X factor. Our little order under £55 had starts, mains and few side dishes our order was not fully delivered to us as result I had to call up and speak to staff who only then passed me on the manager who I felt was not very helpful, but confirmed the missing items will be sent to us which had been one starter, one main and one side which arrived after 5mins of the call. We opened the plastic containers which I have to small in portion size and thought as the error was made by them and the inconvenience caused they did not even offer any complementary item, the food which I believe needs to Improve due to lack of flavours I could list each areas the food was floored on but I then it's best to say honestly i want be ordering from here again I'll stick with the restaurants I know and will drive down to them which I have visited number of times and know the food is...
