Demetri’s Taverna — Restaurant in England

Me and my wife only came to weston for a quick break(overnight) so i wanted to make sure what we had for evening meal was good, well after reading the reviews we opted for Dimitris Taverna, and by god we was not dissapointed. Without dout the best greek food we have ever had, and haveing done a few greek islands we feel we know and like greek food. The klefte starter was just sublime and the stiffado, on a whole new level to anything had before. The portions for main course are huge so you will need to loosed your belts. Lol. Now the price, well, like the food, shocked at what they charged us, well worth an extra £15:00per head. Yes folks, Dimitris Taverna is that good, and the staff leave you wanting for nothing. So...

One of the worst greek restaurants we have been. There was an hour delay until we were served the main meal. We sat there watching the near tables who arrived 20-30 minutes later than us been served and when we asked for our meal the fish filet had bones and tasteless. The chicken kebabs one portion was burnt. The chips, salad and pitta bread was just enough for one person and not for four people. On our way out the owner asked numerous personal questions and when we expressed our concerns about the poor service, the bad food and the size of portions, he answered with a quick ' sorry ' and quickly walked away. Haven't been to Demetri"s in years. My other half had never been so a friend & I decided that needed correcting. We ordered the meze for the three of us. As the small dishes start to arrive for the first course you maybe fooled into thinking there wouldn't be enough but that was quite simply not the case. The food was delicious, the atmosphere good & the staff attentive. Sadly the liqueur coffee at the end wasn't so good. After two attempts we abandoned the idea. Our concerns about the coffee however were addressed immediately & dealt with well, despite still not being quite right. Would definitely recommend & we will definitely return.
