Very nice drinks, food and position. My only gripe was being told to go down to the public loos (which would be fine if this were a government lockdown rule) but these toilets had been out of order for at least the afternoon and no mention of the 20p per use charge (so I had to do two trips to get a coin only to find out it wouldn't accept any change). I reported the council toilets (to be out of action) by calling the service number but nothing could be done immediately. It's not a nice feeling being desperate to use a loo, especially for those with chronic conditions like colitis, IBS, Crohn's or for little kids. It could have ended very badly 😳. I wouldn't have used the cafe if I was aware of the cafe toilets were not in use and the public ones were out of action. Gov.uk rules from the 12th April cafe toilets that are inside can be made available to customers. It could be argued that the public toilets are nothing to do with the cafe - but my view is that most customers would need to use the facilities after having a drink or two and a meal and a bit more transparency regarding toilet usage would have been beneficial so those customers with medical issues could make an...

I have passed the Boathouse Bar and Bistro at the Uphill boatyard many times, but most of the time I have, it has been in the evening, and it has been closed. It usually closes at 4pm and 5pm at weekends.

So on a recent stroll around Uphill I decided I would stop for a coffee and try the Boathouse out.

It was quite busy and bustling when I arrived late morning, there was no queue though. I ordered my flat white and then took a seat at a table. They do, what I always prefer, to bring my coffee over to me, rather than wait at the counter until it is made.

The Boathouse is in a building which use to be a yacht chandlers, there are still signs of that in the place.

It wasn’t long before my coffee arrived, it was a well made flat white and tasted great. I spent time drinking my coffee and working on my phone. There is no wifi, and to be honest not much of a phone signal either. I think next time I will take a notebook and a pen and work in that way.

Overall a really nice coffee, good service and a pleasant...

Went on a Saturday at 11am to meet some old work colleagues that I had last worked with over 30 years ago.

We managed to book a table as one of the colleagues now works at The Boathouse.

Returned again today (14th Dec)

Had a latte and a pecan and walnut chocolate flapjack, absolutely outstanding. Thick chocolate and a very generous slice.

Wife had an Americano and a dark chocolate and coconut flapjack. Again fantastic, lovely staff, great place 💯

Will be back again 😍

It quickly became very busy which wasn't surprising.

Staff were friendly and efficient and brought the orders to the table.

Great atmosphere, lovely place and obviously very popular.

We only had coffee but it was very nice, no complaints.

Returned again today (25th Oct)

Took the our Black Lab Albie as he likes the sausages they do for the dogs. He loves that.

Not to busy as we visited late afternoon. Coffee and cakes all round. Again FAN TAS TIC cakes no complaints whatsoever.

Great place, great staff always a pleasure...

The Wharf cafe is located right by Uphill boat yard. if your driving head to the boat yard and you will see it. its a good location for a cafe sat in the shadow of Uphill hill. a nice place to walk and catch the views. also a new cycle or footpath starts here and goes all the way to Brean. The cafe serves hot and cold food. a good fried breakfast and cakes and teas and coffees. theres a toilet within the building which i discovered is strictly for customers only. theres a public toilet just near the entrance to the boat yard. 20p type. Theres both indoor seating and outdoor seating. its not table service but once youve ordered food is brought to your selected table. friendly staff. People with dogs tend to be sat in the outdoor area. which is either your thing or not. personally barking dogs or sniffers while eating isnt ideal. but you might be into that. if my review helps you at all please press the like button. and good luck

How anyone can give any less than 5 stars has to be a really miserable person..it's a fab little place..wandered in well after breakfast and brunch and they rustled up a veggie brunch which was fabulous really tasty and very good sized portions in fact best I have had in years..lovely friendly helpful staff and although they allow dogs and dripping wet cyclists in it is spotlessly clean..small but good quality selection of drinks, hilarious signs dotted around, great miniature seascape complete with flashing lighthouse, really nice paintings what looks like a small library come bookstore very reasonably priced local artist cards.. this place is fabulous , right on cycle route 33 part of the Weston to Brean cycle path great for everyone..give it a go and don't forget to say hello to doggy that sells poppy's !

We went for the first time recently and found it to be not the cheapest but not the most expensive either. For the price though, the size of the cake my husband had was tiny and his coffee wasn’t hot. We decided to give it a second go today as we love walking here. However we were disappointed again, my apple cake was lovely however the blondie was very dry. The tea I had arrived with the tea bag separate, no milk and not even close to a full cup. I asked for milk and for more hot water so I could have a full cup. The water never arrived and the waitress looked miserable. I’ve never been to a cafe and had to make my own cup of tea before for £2.50. We’ve decided we won’t be giving it a third try.
