Have been going to Durys for awhile over a few years. The food used to be good value for your money but not any more. I went recently I got a small BLT and a few crisp and a tea which cost 10 pound. What has really put me off from ever going there again is the water pistols they have at the door encouraging customers to spray the seagull with water. Now I know they can be a pest but do they deserved having water sprayed at them I found it it quite upsetting. They are just trying to survive. If people do not like them maybe sit inside. They used to have blankets at the door for people now water pistols . There was a little girl squirting water at one seagull which I thought was wrong someone allowed there child to be cruel to animals.will not be spending any more money there from now on. Seagulls are protected. I don't think getting people to soak them in water is the answer that is being cruel . I must add I have sat outside and never been dive bombed by the seagulls . You know there are seagulls around advice people to sit inside. If you was hungry and there was lots of food around you would do the same. We now go to the garden centre where there is good value for money really nice staff and they are...
Read moreNice establishment serving decent coffee and food. The staff are always friendly and happy to help. There are lots of coffee styles available as well as tea. There are also good food options that are made to order, as well as some pastry and other baked treats that can be heated, like croissants and sausage rolls. They have excellent non dairy milk options available, such as coconut, almond, and oat milk, to cater to any diet intolerances and preferences. There is a customer toilet, indoor and outdoor seating, and some limited on-street parking at the front of their building in Richardson rd, which falls under permit zone W in Hove. They also offer a loyalty scheme so you are able to collect stamps on your orders to earn some free goods in return for your regular custom. It's a great little coffee shop that serves good quality drink and food, and it's great to have them in the area. We tried the breakfast wrap today, and wow! Delicious 😋 Also, if you can, take your own keep cup and they will serve your coffee in it, good for the planet 👍 nice coffee...
Read moreDisappointed this morning. Was told that I would have to stand waiting for 15mins, (when one other customer was at the counter) while he served everyone else (I assume he means make coffee for everyone that’s ordered) before they would sell me a bag of Coffee beans. How long does it take to shovel some beans in a bag, two minutes? I make special trips to buy these beans and don’t have a lot of time at the weekend. This is the second time I’ve had issues buying beans. The first time I was totally ignored for about 1O minutes not realising you have to ring a bell. I don’t think I’ll bother in the future.
Thanks for your reply. I’ve upped my rating in response, as I’ve previously had good service. It might be worth thinking about the signage on your retail desk, as without that your customers assume they are receiving terrible service, when ignored by...
