We visited for a family members birthday last night. I found we didn’t get a warm welcome everything seemed to be a bit rushed with ordering food etc. The starter was good so it looked promising for the main but how wrong was I. I ordered the king prawns with cashew nuts which had absolutely no flavour, the sauce was quite clumpy. Myself and a member of my family didn’t feel well during the night have felt quite sick today also. The duck didn’t come out how we thought it would and didn’t look very appetising at all so I didn’t touch it. Other members of the party who tried it didn’t rate the duck at all. I understand about not wanting to waste food but we felt like we had to eat all of it as the man serving wasn’t very approachable and basically told us if we didn’t eat the majority of it he’d refuse to serve us. The restaurant didn’t seem to have any atmosphere, I visited a few years back and I didn’t get the same experience as I got last night so unfortunately we will not be...
Read moreThere is nothing good to say about East Meets West. Very mediocre food and it's clearly a very long time since anyone took pride in the place. Everything looks grubby. Evidently they only want you to have the 'all you can eat' menu, which is suspect in itself; I had to ask to see the regular menu. The women's loos were painted black - presumably so that it's harder to see the dirt. It's all been done as cheaply as possible, which made me wonder about kitchen hygiene. Even the dirty cutlery looks like the flimsey stuff you'd get in schools. You feel like you've not had good value for money, even with the all-you-can-eat menu. (Mainly because it is so unappatising that you don't want to eat much). Places like this should be a thing of the past, and if this review saves a few people from wasting their cash, I'd feel like the time I spent there wasn't quite...

I ordered a pint of coke at the same time that never arrived and had to order again the next time a lady came around. I was there for 1.5hours, by the time my first order came out there wasnt any point ordering again another 45minute wait, my taxi would have arrived by then. Definitely left feeling ripped off. It was all you can eat, so was charged £16. For my small amount of food.
On a food note... the rice was quite nice,it was fluffy and not too greasy but the chicken had a chewy/rubbery texture.
I've been here a few times, service is normally a little on the slow side but it seems to to be getting worse each time we go. Dont think I'll be...
