Mixed reviews for this place as though the food wad lovely, the service (and attitude of some of the team) wasn’t up to scratch.

A table for 4 had been booked a while back to celebrate my sister’s birthday. Both her and her husband had been before and raved about the quality of the food and, as were vegetarians, that they had a good selection for us too.

Unfortunately we were 10 mins late, due to the taxi being slightly delayed and arrived to find the family, in front saying they had rang ahead however the hostess couldn’t find their booking. The hostess began reading off names of people that had booked (data protection people?!) and the people in front said they also had the same name as us. They were quickly seated and when it was our turn we were told our table had “just been given away”!

There was no apology for the error, we were told we were late so we could wait at the bar as they were booked up!

They did eventually find us a seat, after we we discussed going elsewhere, however my sister was not happy as it was for her birthday and now it was getting in, there was no saying we could get someone else on a Saturday evening.

We were finally (and begrudgingly it felt) seated, however the service was rushed from start to finish with our starters being taken away with still on and we were not asked if we wanted another drink.

The family that ‘took’ our table was sitting there very smugly throughout.

Overall very disappointed and although the food was very good, don’t think...

Exceptional Dining Experience at ELIF Turkish Restaurant

I typically don't leave reviews, but my experience at ELIF Turkish restaurant deserves recognition. Initially, I visited about a month ago, and I was impressed by the food, service, and ambiance. However, I hesitated to leave a review, thinking it might have been a one-time occurrence. Since then, I've revisited several times, and each time surpasses the last.

One standout aspect is the attentive management and team particularly Ersin, who ensures everything is impeccable. We always sit in the cave it’s remarkable, transporting you to Turkey with its atmosphere and decor.

Now, let's talk about the food – it's simply amazing Each dish has the “WOW" factor, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable, especially the day time special menu.On my wife's birthday, I brought along friends, and they were equally impressed.

ELIF is a gem in Norton, offering not only incredible cuisine but also a genuine family atmosphere where the staff genuinely care about your experience. If you're seeking a memorable night out, look no...

First time visit however, despite booking on line and having the reservation confirmation there was no record of this at their end so after a lengthy discussion and a brief wait we were seated at a table. Decor was very nice and there was a good selection on their menu but the staff were a bit hit and miss to be honest. I went for the hummus and warm pitta bread as my starter then the halloumi in a tortilla wrap with cucumber, tomato and a sweet chilli sauce for my main. Hummus was delicious but can't say the same of the halloumi tortilla which was a bit messy to eat dripping every time I took a bite and falling apart - don't get me wrong it tasted okay and I absolutely love halloumi but not a fan on this occasion. I would give Elif a second visit purely down to the other delicious sounding dishes...

I’ve booked a table at the restaurant on a friend's recommendation and I wasn't disappointed. I really like the location and am pleased that everything else was also to my liking. The decor is very authentic, creating a great atmosphere. The staff are attentive, there are plenty of vegetarian options, and most importantly, everything is delicious. We had a wonderful time and would love to return. The only drawback is that to get into the restaurant, you need to go down quite steep stairs, which might be difficult for some visitors.

After reading the reviews I thought we were in for a great meal but sadly we were disappointed. The Turkish tea was just tea, no aromatics. The mixed shish kebab was 2 bits of chicken and 2 bits of lamb for £20. The Ali Nazik had no taste of smoked aubergines. We orders Turkish bread thinking it would be a fresh Pide but no, it was a dodgy bit of pita. The drinks are too expensive £6.50 for a pint of lager. Bottle full cheapo wine £23. We won’t be visiting again. Persian Cottage in Middlesbrough is our favourite still.

Absolutely beautiful meal today with my Husband 🤍 Enes was so welcoming, friendly and helpful, giving us suggestions for next time, asking what kind of things we liked & what to go for. The restaurant was so quirky and beautiful, Enes told us we could sit where ever we want and even offered to turn the lights on in the cosy, cave looking area to the back. It’s little touches like this that made us love it. The whole meal, food, atmosphere and service was wonderful, we will be back
