Bella Ciao is not just a restaurant—it’s a journey straight to Italy. From the moment we stepped in, we were completely transported. The warm, inviting atmosphere, the sound of Italian music, the hanging lemons, and the photographs of the Amalfi Coast made us forget we were in Riga. This place has a soul.

The food? Simply divine. Every dish was crafted with passion by an Italian chef, and you could taste the authenticity in every bite. The seafood pasta was perfection, the rice balls were crispy on the outside and meltingly soft inside, and the bruschetta with salmon was pure delight. But the tiramisu—oh, the tiramisu! Made from a grandma’s recipe, it brought actual tears to our eyes. It was that good.

The drinks were the perfect pairing—strong espresso, refreshing Italian beer, and the smoothest limoncello that felt like sunshine in a glass.

And the service? Impeccable. The chef himself came out to greet us, introducing us to the menu with such warmth and enthusiasm that we felt like honored guests in a true Italian home.

My partner and i came here yesterday evening as we haven't found anywhere decent to eat local unfortunately... when we arrived we was greeted with the bar man called paddy who took our drinks orders he very polite and welcoming .... we then sat in the cosy corner through the bar .. asked for a menu for food... to then be greated by The chef to take our food order.. it was nice that he came out and asked what we would like to eat witch you don't normally get in places that kind if service and suggested some food for us to try called a parmo and a tikka curry wrap omg in all honesty we wasn't disappointed at all with what we got !! The food was absolutely amazing the size was huge !! The quality and flavours were spot on and the price was so worth the money too !! The chef then came out to check how the food was in witch I can say I was very impressed to see this type of service 👌 🙌 we will definitely be coming back again to your pub. My daughter and I had been staying in Boroughbridge and came across the Fox & Hounds via a Google search after failing to find a Sunday dinner at 3pm. We were greeted with such a welcome despite them being super busy and us not having booked - they found a table for us straight away, and the excellent service continued throughout. The carvery was absolutely delicious, hot food and so well cooked. I definitely recommend the cauliflower cheese, and they had a gravy boat for me too as I'd ran out of space on my plate! Although we were completely stuffed, we couldn't turn down the pudding menu, and they were absolutely delicious too. The pub has a very welcoming vibe, it had board and card games for us to use whilst we were there which my daughter really enjoyed too. Big shout out to Claire for being so fabulous and welcoming and making a fuss of my daughter. We live about an hour away, but I'd be happy to drive back for the food as it...
