Delicious with a capital "D". Friendly, happy staff and truly scrumptious food. I had salted beef with roasted onions and pickle in a soft granary roll served with a small green salad, homemade coleslaw and corn crisps. Extremely tasty and filling and very moderately priced. The coffee was also very good! Lovely relaxed atmosphere and the choices of other food and beverages looked equally appealing. What's more it is a dog friendly establishment which is very nice to see. Centrally located in Boroughbridge and although there didn't look to be any dedicated parking at the shop there is plenty of good free parking near by. I will definitely be returning and would advise anyone to give this little gem a try.
Update February 2022…
Have recently visited this great cafe again and was not disappointed at all. I am truly delighted to say that my previous comments stand and that the service and quality of food are just as good. I’m also pleased to say that it would appear that they are as busy as ever which can only be a sign of just how good they are. Definitely pay them a visit.
Update August 2023... Superb, friendly, warm service as ever. Food is still top notch. What more...
Read moreJust WOW! we spent the weekend in Boroughbridge and stayed at the Grantham Arms, we were there for my birthday weekend as there were a couple of walks in the area we wanted to do. However on the Saturday morning I was up early (04:15) and decided to take my 7 month old Bull Terrier for a walk around Boroughbridge, and discovered plenty, I mean it wasn't open but loved the name and could see it was also dog friendly.
So once the rest of the family was awake, we went for breakfast.....
It was SO good, everyone's breakfast delivered at the same time, and everything looked amazing on the plate. The staff were super attentive but not overbearing....the stars of the show (for me) were (as crazy as it sounds) the toast and the tea!
Don't get me wrong, it was all very nice indeed, but that toast had the best crunch and the absolute right thickness!
You will not be disappointed here.
The funny part was my family (wife, daughters x 2) are scared of wasps and when one came to see what we were having for breakfast I was able to catch it and kill it with the tea pots, tea cosy..... if it wasn't for that tea cosy who know the level of crazy our table...
Read moreMe and my colleague stumbled across this little cafe and decided to get some lunch. We ordered a chicken panini and sausage, egg & bacon sandwich. After we placed our order, The lady started preparing our lunch when she spotted a dog outside of the cafe. She stopped preparong our lunch and went outside to greet the dog. She was patting, brushing and playing with a dog outside and we could see it through the window. She already had gloves on that she had used to prep our lunch. She didn't remove her gloves to brush the dog with her hands and then resumed preparing our lunch. We were absolutely disgusted with what we had witnessed. I have no issues with dogs but this wasn't my dog nor hers and I dog and I didn't particularly fancy dog hair on my sandwich. Extremely poor hygiene standards Safe to say the sandwich went straight...
