Definitely a must try! Gorgeous proper traditional pub, with nice local people. We're here on holiday and value for money is absolutely amazing. We came in for a few drinks one afternoon and the chap behind the bar was lovely and so attentive. We looked at the menu and decided we'd try for dinner the following evening. Well we were not disappointed! The lamb shanks were to die for and for pudding we had cherry pie and sticky toffee pudding, also very tasty. The portion sizes are huge and we definitely didn't leave hungry. It was nice to find a local pub that allowed dogs. Will definitely return when we next venture up this way!

We stopped here on the way home after a walk in the countryside, the staff on the bar were really helpful. The food was tasted fantastic, we had a gamon and chips and a mix grill. The portion sizes were generous we hoped to be able to try dessert but we were beaten by our mains. Definitely on my list to visit again. Pic of my gamon (with some of the many chips we got. Also sneaky extra tomato from my bfs mixed grill)

Stayed very close by so this became our local for a couple of weeks. Service very good. Barman remembers what you drink and tells you when he has new stuff on and has even got more of our favourite crisps in. Looking forward to checking out dominoes night. Nice outdoor area for sunny afternoons. Eclectic indoor seating areas and dog friendly.

Our visit today, upset us. A place that we used to visit frequently, hosted by and visited by locals. Always friendly and polite. Even now a good clean place, and though we did not have a meal, you can tell by the customers reactions, clean plates and the good pleasant aromas from the kitchen that the food would be good to excellent. As to the staff on this occasion, well; having ordered a pint and half of a good German lager, which I knew would be expensive; but £12.40..... so I then asked where is the bar "Tariff", and was looked at with a "EH!, what's that". Needless to say, I was then told ,"It is on the chalk board, £6.40 a pint cos it is a German beer." Eight years in Germany, I knew what I ordered, but still can not work out £12.40 for a pint and a half. PLEASE do not be put off from visiting this place, though it has been taken over by another brewery, that expects the customers to pay for the new decor and fittings. Do not take adavantage of the bar staff that have a collective IQ of a slug in a packet of crisps, but go with a view of curiosity and a...

Went in to watch some football, the atmosphere was alright and beer was OK. However we ordered some food in there, a burger and chips and it was a right rip off, 14 quid for it and it was not good quality at all. The burger was very small and basic, didn't have any cheese and it was just meat with some ketchup and the chips were absolutely horrendous. They were extremely dry and seemed like they didn't even have any potato in them and were like frozen chips from the supermarket. In fact the frozen chips from the supermarket are probably better than the chips i got there and I only got about 8 chips. I was still starving after I had the meal. In conclusion the beer and atmosphere is OK if you want to go in to watch some football, but I wouldn't recommend getting any...

Stumbled on this fine establishment while travelling down to Otley so my Wife and I oh and the pooch Molly called in for a spot of lunch my god I am so glad we did the pies were amazing, delicious and stunning to say the least steak and ale pies were to notch the service impeccable and friendly the beer was delicious so we just had to book in for Sunday lunch. Absolutely amazing the beef was like butter my Wife’s pork was tender and had super crunchy crackling lovely vegetable assortment and lashings of old school gravy ! Again staff amazing ! We have just found our new bolt hole away from home for food and beverages! Thank you to all for making our two lunch visit...
