George & Dragon — Restaurant in England

Started a family reunion at the G&D a month or so ago. 3 car loads of us pulled into the carpark, stayed for a couple of hours.

A month later and we've all received letters telling us we're being fined for parking in the G&D carpark. 3 cars, 10 people... none of us saw a sign (not saying they're not there - we just didn't notice them - it is not usual to be expected to clock in when parking at a pub), and the staff didn't say a peep.

It seems that the G&D's carpark is managed by a company called CPM; do they share the proceeds earned with the George & Dragon? 🤔- it'd certainly explain why the staff didn't bring this odd parking situation to our attention! If you look into CPM you'll see that its registered (suburban/residential) address is shared by a large number of businesses. CPM are impossible to get hold of and their appeals process is a non starter - it doesn't recognise the ref. no. they send out on their own forms... Sounds dodgy eh?

As an extended family we travel to Princes Risborough a few times a year to catch up, and we nearly always walk to this pub. It's unfortunate that short sighted greed has led to such...

I have visited this pub a couple of times since reopening and both times sat under the sheltered outside area. There are quite a few tables, so when busy there is a nice atmosphere filled with general chatter and music.

We only planned to have a couple of drinks after work one evening, but as we are new to the area we decided to order some small plates! We were happy to see a 3 for £10 offer on the menu with a great choice. We ordered the breaded calamari, sourdough & gravy and hallumi fries which were delicious! We talked about them/ craved them days later, hence our second visit! 😅

There is a variety of drinks however I would love if they offered more cider, in particular the fruity flavours or even cocktails!

I believe this pub has recently been taken over and inside has undergone a refurbishment so I look forward to...

Very disappointed in the service and food, came her today for lunch (11/04/19) Bar lady took 10 minutes to serve me and another customer as she was in the back eating!! Then when I did order she didn't know how to use the till. I ordered from the specials menu which was spicy burger and fries, food took 1 hour to come out and when it did the bun was rock hard. I asked how can you serve this when the bun is hard the chef said I didn't know it was. So I just eat the burger patty which was bland and not spicy. They gave me back £6 to compensate for the bun. The pub itself is nice but service and food quality is poor. Hopefully they can fix up as there's loads...
