Delicious food. Chicken Jalfrezi was spot on and not greasy. Tasty naan bread. And delivered for a reasonable price. Would definitely recommend.
Edit. 7/23. Went for a meal in the restaurant after numerous takeaways. Great atmosphere and wonderful service, food was spot on and totally different from what we have delivered although both are excellent.
Well worth a go, dine in or take out.
Edit. 12/5/24.
Been a while since we've had a delivery from olives and sadly this time they dropped the ball a little. Poppadoms usually order 1 and no fewer than 3 received however today we received one. (Surely when ordering they could state that 1 is 1 or 1 is a few, same for bahjis you order 1 and get 3. The naan bread were nuked and not enjoyable. And the mains lacked the usual finesse we've previously received.
I know there can be off days.
2nd Edit.
Gave it another go 12/2024. Hasn't improved sadly. Food was mediocre at best and when ordeing online it said collect and receive %25 off so I thought I'd take advantage just to be told it was cash only, I said it would be good if that was made clear online (unless I'm missing something) so...
Read moreOverall I thought the Olive was nice and after a recent 'not great experience' at another very nearby Indian Restaurant, this was definitely a much better experience. It was nice to 'not be shouted at' by the people serving. My biggest issue with The Olive however is not the quality or flavour of the food, it's the sweetness. My Keralan Prawn Curry was 'Dessert Sweet', very sugary which made it quite sickly and after mining out the few very lovely prawns I was left with lots of extremely sweet sauce. If there were 'low sugar options' that would be great. Not everyone has a sweet tooth so please, dial down the sugar so we can enjoy the lovely flavours you create. I should add, this is not an issue solely with the Olive. I find most Indian food served is...
Read moreI felt that we were taken for a ride, but didnât want to embarrass my mother-in-law who had offered to pay; this place is neither âUrbanâ or âThaiâ. If youâve been to Thailand, (perhaps partaking in one of the many popular cooking courses) youâll know authentic Thai isnât easy to find in the UK, as itâs all about freshness and specific ingredients that arenât readily available in their best form here. Sure itâs possible, but it helps if the chef appreciates this. The food isnât bad, per se, but rather disappointing and overpriced. Service was diligent and friendly if a little overbearing, they got...
