Hikers Bar — Restaurant in England

Don't pass this pub up. It's great! I loved what I fell upon when arriving here. I hoped to find a tavern, medieval style and that would welcome travelers and happenstance this is what I got. I felt like a character out of the Witcher franchise. By the fire I stood with my map on hand acting as part of the theme of the place as folk arrived. Entering in conversation with those who participated made the absolute best of the time I reserved in the local campaite "The Great Langdale Campsite". The ODG Climbers Bar was once a great traditional lakeland pub, I've been going there for years. But it's now a shell of itself and nothing but a tourist trap. They used to have a great menu, now there's only bad chips or a sandwich and the beer is hugely overpriced. The main guy behind thr bar for the last couple of years is rude to everyone and unfortunately I can't think of a reason to keep going back and will be avoiding it in favour of the other two...

Such a great pub, friendly staff & customers, great food & drinks and excellent WiFi too. We stayed 4 nights at Great Langdale campsite, a 10 minute walk away so the pub was our lifeline to the internet, and just a cool place to hang out, especially after being out on the fells.
