Food was good and thats where my postiveness ends Service was shockingly slow 2 staff for 10 tables is a joke typical example of the disgracefull service was when we ordered desert and coffee the icecream took 20 mins to arrive the coffee was nowhere to be seen waited 10 mins asked again still no coffee asked again waited a further 10 mins coffee arrived in a clearly microwaved cup as it was to hot to even hold the handle i would of complained there and then but was told by my partner to keep quiet then we asked for the bill and the card reader at rhe same time the girl brought the bill 5 mins later and no card reader waited 10 mins had to ask again she then proceeded to seeve other tables drinks still no card reader had to ask again to top it off all the windows were closed you could feel the heat from the bar below it was that hot as i went down the stairs i nearly passed out The only reason i did not make a scene was because i was with my daughter and the food was very nice the management clearly need to address the staffing levels as 2 staff for so many covers is diabolical Ive replied to your comment by email as cant see or reply here

Booked a table, pleased we did because it was really busy! We were greeted at the door where there was hand sanitiser and a member of staff took our details for track and trace. Cocktails were buy one get one free so I couldn't resist. We got the 2 courses for 12.99 including a drink. We got hallumi fries and nachos to start, they brought the kids pizza and chips with our starters which was a good call as they were boiling hot. Mains we got the chicken surf and turf and the chicken stir fry. Hubby enjoyed his surf and turf, my stir fry was a little lack lustre, it was more like par boiled veg and a tiny bit of chicken in an average tomato sauce (that tasted like hubby's prawns had been in the same pan). It was OK but boiling hot and took ages to cool to a decent temperature due to being in the skillet. The chips were the best bit. £32.50 (eat out to help out) for 4 mains, 2 starters, 2 soft drinks,1.5 pints of lager and 2 cocktails. 8/10 only because my meal was just OK, will return but will choose something else off the menu.

Lovely place to eat and as a Coeliac we had this place recommended to us for gluten free food. Nearly the whole menu is available gluten free, and this is a great job by the chef as eating out can be so difficult when you have Coeliac and you can be very limited for what you can eat, and they also have procedures in place to avoid cross contamination. We regularly go for Sunday dinner and it doesn't disappoint. Lovely gluten free gravy, Yorkies, & cauliflower cheese. We have just recently been there with big party for a birthday & everyone commented on how nice the food was so it's not just the Sunday dinner that's nice. Very clean looking place, friendly staff and they all meet everyones requirements, Coeliac and non Coeliac. We will continue to return here. Well done to all at Hollathans.

The food and table service are usually fairly good and on this occasion they still were, although we have sometimes had issues with the food in the past.

The problem this time were the Limoncello Daiquiri cocktails that we ordered. They were described as consisting of Limoncello, prosecco and lemon sorbet. At the end of our meal, the waitress asked me how the cocktails were, of course I told her they were not very good, there was no lemon sorbet, it was just ice (slush to be precise).

I was informed that she had used all the correct ingredients, to which I replied that I like lemon sorbet and that was not lemon sorbet but just ice. She apologised and said she would make it better next time, but then said I probably wouldn't order it again - that is true! If I am being brutally honest, I couldn't taste much of the presence of Limoncello or prosecco either, it is possible that most of that had been displaced by the slush and had ended up on the serving tray and serviette, which were wet.

She then said she would see if she could get it taken off the bill, of course it wasn't.

My main complaints about Hollathans, are their lack of sincerity and their customer service needs improving.

I have had some really good cocktails from there in the past, the young lad who works there makes one of the best Long Island tea cocktails in the area, although it has been a while since I have had one...
