Went here for breakfast today, after staying at the premier inn next door.... worst experience ever, terrible service and the kitchen staff and breakfasts were the worst I’ve seen in about 20 years. We had to wait so long for our food, they even forgot to bring us our fruit juices and had to be reminded, the they came at the same time as our coffees. The full English, which lets face it is not a hard one to make, cake nearly an hour after ordering; while in the process of waiting for ours we saw so many other people complain about the service, and the food... orders were wrong, cold or the food just wasn’t good. 9 out of the ten meals we saw come out went back to the kitchen with many asking for refunds.
When our breakfast finally arrived, there were no eggs and no butter for the toast, we had one pathetic thin slice of one single mushroom per plate, it was a joke. We, like many other sent pies back to the kitchen to get our eggs, when they came back the eggs yolks were all broken and hard and my wife’s were all broken and looked like hers had just been thrown on her plate.
Disgusting service, terrible food, all the kitchen staff and chef’s ( if you can even call them that) should be fired on the spot...
The place wasn’t even busy to be under serving pressure either. On leaving another customer was complaining in a huge way... his meal came out cold, with bits missing as well, one there was a complete meal missing from the table... he asked to see the chef, and out came someone who certainly was not the chef, couldn’t answer any questions about why the meal was so bad gave excuses that he didn’t cook it, and when asked where are the mushrooms that should be in his meal replied stating they had run out. !!
An absolutely disgusting service, with a very sloppy and lazy kitchen and kitchen staff. Over £20.00 for 2 breakfasts with 2 coffees.
Should easily be voted worst pub breakfast in England.
I really don’t know how the premier in. Associates itself with it or why they recommend their guests to use it for meals and breakfasts. .
If I could vote a zero I...
Read moreAfter having one of the best burgers we have ever had a few months ago we thought we would try the mixed grills this evening, very disappointed, asked for medium rare steak and it came out blue, sent it back and it came back cremated, the sausages were mush, the gammon was like eating a mouthful of salt. I asked to speak to a manager who politely came over, once speaking to him and explaining what was wrong with our meals and that I managed to eat one fried egg and that was it, he replied back with “the sausages were fine this morning when I had them for breakfast?” I appreciate they might have been cooked properly morning time but this was in the evening, so are they serving sausages they cooked from the morning and just heating them up? Or were they just not cooked properly? Both questionable. Also the smart remark of Gamon is salty, correct it is but like I said not the the point where it’s like putting a tablespoon of salt in your mouth with every bite. Luckily enough we didn’t have to pay for the meals we both had mouthfuls of. Not happy with the sarcastic remarks and made up excuses. Deffo put us off coming back. If people are not happy with the food then own it, this stuff happens sometimes and can easily be rectified, don’t make sarcastic remarks or question them further when being told they...
Read moreI was organising a celebration of life for my son. We had booked another venue just around the corner near the lake and heard there was a wedding reception there. So cancelled and went to the Horse and Jockey. When we booked the guy said, with a buffet this area could only seat 30 people. We said can we book for 40 people and the extras would have to sit outside or use the bar area, he said this would be okay. The day before the celebration of life we went in to the Horse and Jockey to increase the numbers, we had heard my son's companies was closing at midday because there would be no staff to carry on the business. The staff working that day in the Horse and Jockey were amazing they could not do enough to make sure everything went right. This was the 12/08/22 the amount of people that said the food was top quality and there was so much choice, and we had done our son proud was what we wanted to hear on this sad day. Thank you Horse and Jockey staff for making this a stress free day. The young guy and girls doing the food are amazing, you finished work before we could thank you. So a BIG THANK...
