The Hop Pole Inn — Restaurant in England

This is my local and my regular. The beer is good, wide range of real ale, including from the micro brewery, and good range of continental bottles as well as lagers (and unfortunately Carlsberg, which isn't the landlord's choice). Also a wide range of spirits, rather than just bog standard pub ones. The food is fantastic, especially the burgers. Sunday is a really good roast with 3 different meats. Quiz on Tuesdays, with a possible top prize of £200, as well as beer tokens. Regular gigs which are worth going to, vinyl night occasional Sunday, and a beer festival 3 times a year. It’s a great beer pub and probably the best in Aylesbury. The range of beers they carry is fabulous and the staff are super friendly and welcoming. That makes the whole place warm and easy to feel comfortable.

The food is just ok. Roast potatoes need to be crunchy and fluffy. Cauliflower cheese shouldn’t be so mustardy. Yorkshire pudding should be a little bit doughy but not greasy. And I like my roast beef pink in the middle.

Made the 10 minute walk from the Premier Inn due to the reviews. A vast range of Craft Beers, Ciders, Lagers. The Menu has your staple meals. My wife and I had Pie, Chips, Peas and Onion Gravy. Piping hot and flavoursome. Saw other customers have Sausage and Mash, Burgers etc. these also looked very appetising.
