Certainly! Here’s your revised 210-word review of Jaan’s Restaurant, Blackburn, now including the note about the fast and efficient service:
⸻
On my recent visit to Jaan’s Restaurant (Jaan’s BBQ) in Blackburn, I was thoroughly impressed. The Peshawari specials were the highlight – both the Chicken Peshawari Karahi and Lamb Peshawari Karahi were outstanding. The chicken was tender and deeply flavorful, with a perfect balance of sweetness and spice. The lamb was rich, succulent, and boldly seasoned—clearly a house favourite.
The portions were generous (half-kilogram servings), and the sauces were beautifully textured with subtle hints of coconut, almond, and raisin—ideal for scooping up with buttery naan or pairing with aromatic pilau rice.
Service was fast and efficient, with friendly staff who ensured everything arrived promptly and as ordered. The restaurant itself felt clean, comfortable, and inviting—great for both family outings and casual dinners.
The menu is diverse, featuring everything from sizzling BBQ platters and kebabs to traditional curries and vegetarian options. For the quality and flavour, the pricing is very reasonable—around £12.50 for the chicken and £13.50 for the lamb, both easily shareable.
Many regulars rave about Jaan’s Peshawari dishes, and now I understand why. If you’re in Blackburn and craving a rich, well-spiced curry that delivers on both taste and value, Jaan’s is a must-try. I’ll definitely be...
Read moreWhere do I start???? So we asked the waitress for the platter which she said we are not doing the platter when asked why she wasn't sure so she asked the chef. Then chef then came out and said we are not doing the platter because we have RAN OUT of rice. So we ordered our food along with a lamb biryani to see if there was actually rice or not. The table behind us received there biryani but yet we still got tood we couldn't have it because there was no rice. Our starters came out and the lamb chops were undercooked, the mains took 45mins after our starter platters finished. So anyways we then got told our biryani was getting made. The chef came to bring it to us and said sorry, we called him a liar and that he should have just said we are not doing the platters instead of lying. He then reyed getting ballsy and rude with us until the owner and other staff broke up the argument. The owner apologised on the chefs behalf and admitted he lied and he should have just said platters are not available. We didn't enjoy the mains as this is when the chef decided to kick off so we left. The customer is always right and this business really needs to consider there staff they have working here of that was my restraunt the chef would have been fired for the way he spoke to customers, and defo shouldn't have got in to a argument over being called a liar which clearly he is. We have been here many times before and have...
Read moreDefinitely would not recommend. 100% avoid. (1) the steaks were advertised to be served with peppercorn sauce. However we were not given any sauce, when we asked the waitress where the sauce was. She went into the back and brought chilli sauce (5 minutes after serving the food). We told her we wanted the peppercorn sauce as advertised on the menu, she said that the restaurant does not serve the peppercorn sauce. She did not tell us this when we ordered the steak. She had the audacity to claim it wasnt even displayed on the menu! We had to point it out to her ourselves. At the end when we recieved the bill, they tried charging us extra for the chilli sauce that we did not even want!! (2) chips were served cold, we did tell them and they did make us fresh ones but it came a while later after the chicken had been nearly eaten (3) We asked to substitute mash served with the steak for extra chips. We did not receive this (4) their "stir fry" noodles tasted plastic and were definitely reheated in the microwave prior serving with hardly any chicken in it (5) we ordered a grilled fish starter to eat with a roti. The roti was given 10 minutes after serving the fish, at which point the fish was already eaten. (6) when we tried to talk to the manager Kareem to deal with our complaints, we expected an apology however, he walked away mid conversation without resolving the problem and left a 13 year old boy to...
