Jordan's Cafe — Restaurant in England

Having given them a 5 star rating for the burgers only last year, it is only fair that I balance it with this poor review after today's experience. The only reason this review has 2 stars instead of 1, is that the burgers were so nice last time. Today we decided to make the journey to Marazion for the sole purpose of having one of these burgers. On arrival at 2.30pm I asked the counter staff what time they closed, she replied 4, but that the kitchen closes at 3.30. I informed her, that as we had an hour before the kitchen closed, we would take our dog for a 20 minute walk on the beach and then return to eat. Having built up even more of an appetite on said walk, imagine our disappointment when we tried to order the burgers at 2.55 to be informed that the kitchen had closed because "it was a quiet day"! This, from the same girl that I had asked the closing times, 25 minutes earlier.

The sole purpose of our journey today was to have a burger and I feel very let down that they closed the kitchen early knowing that we intended to return. Should I have been told of this possibility, we would have ordered and eaten before the walk.

My first review still stands that the food is good, but I am not sure if i would make the journey again, when the opening hours are so unreliable - especially after I asked just 25...

We visited with friends for the local bike meet in the carpark (council owned so fee payable for cars/vans) and the cafe stays open each Tuesday later than advertised (roughly until 7.30pm I was advised) to accommodate the meet, with a limited menu on offer of several "options & chips" meals or baguettes. We ate sausage and chips which were freshly cooked, plentiful, delicious and a mere £5, and the coffee was excellent. There were several cakes on offer as well, although we didn't have room for any! Absolutely disgusting customer service, my friend was being racially profiled. We ordered food and the order was never put through so the waitress decided to stare us down for about 45 minutes. Once she realized she never put the order through she offered only myself (white male) and my friend (white female) a free coffee and then completely blanked my boyfriend (Indian male) and for most of the time she was giving him the most disgusting looks while ordering, waiting and eating. We saw an employee double dip his spoon into the ice cream, also glasses were dirty and honestly I don’t think I’ve ever been so uncomfortable in a cafe ever in my life.
