Having lived in Chalfont for over a year now, it is lovely to have some local restaurants to pick from. However I will never be using Kaya’s services again. Firstly I collected a takeaway and got home ready to eat it to find that my Chicken Chow Mein was mixed with prawns and pork (this is a mistake which could easily have been more dangerous if I was allergic to prawns, however I am not). After calling Kaya they said I could either come pick up the right dish or have a free one on the house next time. Today I am on the phone to Kaya for 11mins with 2 members of staff. I have to repeat my order, address and telephone number 3-4 times. I was patient. But I also unsure that they comprehended that I was due a free replacement dish on top off the other items I ordered. This must have been confusing for the staff but I was clear since I had to repeat it to them multiple times. It was delivered by a lovely driver (the only part of this whole experience that was positive). However it arrived missing the dish which was meant to be the free one for my mother and I to enjoy. So the driver contacted Kaya and I spoke again to a member of staff who said I would have to wait another approx 45min for the missing dish. Bearing in mind that the rest of the food which had been delivered would go cold. However I had a call back demanding I pay for the dish they had missed as they had not charged me correctly. This got heated and I simply explained that they had made now not one but two mistakes and that this was not my fault. I was clear on the phone repeating my order several times and he had the audacity to tell me he had not made a mistake. He gave me the impression that I was communicating badly. I would personally not bother ordering takeaway or speak to anyone over the phone at Kaya. Their customer service was appalling. I wish there was a 0 star...
Read moreVery disappointed with the service provided and the staffs attitude. Firstly after having booked, they were confused about our booking, even after pointing to our booking on their book. They started chatting in Chinese in front us. Next we were out into a table that was blasted by very cold air each time the back door to the function room was opened. We asked to be reseated at one of two other tables available, out if the draught. The staff told us it was too busy and could not be done. Then another couple cane and at on the table behind us, they promptly git up and went and occupied one of the larger tables that were available, which we were refused. After about 1 minutes a group of travellers cane in without a booking, and they were seated at the other table we had requested. We were a table of five, and so wer they. Then after asking why it was do cold when the door was opened, we were informed the function room heating was off. The manager then turned in the heating in there. But still it was cold for the duration of our meal. Then the service was very slow, the chicken wrapped lettuce cane out with wrinkled small leaf lettuce, nit fresh succulent Cos lettuce leaves. The chicken sizzler was bought out on a normal plate. And to top it off, they added a gratuity fee onto the bill automatically. That is the last time we visit there. Disgusting service and attitude, stemming from the...
Read moreHow disappointed my wife and I were with the service on Chinese New Year evening of January 25th. I first discovered this restaurant last October and although not local, I have a deep love of Malaysian food especially Sambal and Kapitan dishes in the few times including sampling there Christmas menu. When we have been before we have enjoyed our time there, however last Saturday was not the case. Having been shown to our reserved table at 7.15pm and having reminded the staff on a few occasions, it took a group of people on the next table to get someone to take our order which was just before 9pm. Admittedly they were extremely busy and obviously short of staff but only three minutes were left when we would have walked out. Our starters then arrived fairly quickly followed by the crispy aromatic duck but we had to wait nearly three quarters of an hour before our main course was delivered. As my car permit for three hours was up at 10.15 we had no time to finish the main or have a desert. People who had come in after us had been gone a long time before we finally left. I do not now feel like going back ever again which is a shame as the menu is...
