I was introduced to Kei’s quite a few years ago by a work colleague. It was great back then and it’s still great now. I returned last night with my family and that was probably my 10th visit. The big upside of Kei’s is that you never leave hungry. You can eat as many prawn crackers, starters, middle and main courses as you like, with all being freshly prepared to order. This restaurant is absolutely not comparable to ghastly buffets, which serve up piles of tepid mass-produced food using ingredients of a questionable quality. The bulk of the dishes on offer are Chinese but there are plenty of Thai dishes and some Singaporean and Malaysian too. There are just too many dishes to name as favourites, but the chicken and cashew nut and crispy chilli beef are definitely towards the top of the list. The satay chicken to start is also a winner! The staff here are most attentive and very friendly, even when rushed off their feet delivering orders to a packed restaurant. We were repeatedly asked about the enjoyment of our meals and table water was always replenished without asking. The price per head for dinner is £19.50 and the restaurant does apply a 10% service charge, which I did not object to. The service was faultless. Whilst not a cheap meal, the experience was worth every penny. Drinks and desserts come at extra cost. But after so much great savoury food, I had no room for something sweet. Just a couple of criticisms - the website booking tool doesn’t work. I called on the day of my visit as I hadn’t received any confirmation. I was told there was a problem with the website and that I should call to book a table in future. The website also shows the cost of dinner to be £18.50. The difference is negligible but the information is still wrong. The website needs updating to avoid dissatisfaction from future customers. All in all though, a superb dining experience.

We celebrated the Chinese New Year with friends at Kei's. The short number of staff compensated with professionalism and effort during a busy day. The food seems family style, fresh and delicious. We were all happy with the fantastic service and amazing food

Good quality and value . Portions are generous also but avoid the pad Thai which is overly sweet and not authentic

Updated after Visiting 17/4/25

Was a little concerned after reading some of the reviews but we had a lovely meal at Keis and the quality of their food is still top notch. We were also offered Tap Water straight away and staff were extremely attentive at topping up glasses (a previous reviewer said tap water was not available which I find bizarre seeing as its a legal requirement for any establishment selling alcohol in the UK). No issues topping up prawn crackers either. Ordering from the All You Can Eat menu is a little more restrictive but still plenty to choose from but they request you only order 5 dishes to start with to avoid waster (which I have no issue with). It can be a little tricky if you have a mix of eaters e.g. vegetarians but just mention this and they do a mixed veg starter option and will allow you more choices ( I dont believe rice / noodles count as a choice). Portions were good and no issue ordering extra dishes once we made a start on the first lot. Only issue some strict vegetarians might find is they use the same oil for frying all food. All food was served piping hot. It was quiet on a Weds night with just 5 tables but I prefer that to rammed and busy.

Previous review:

We used to go here often both dine in and takeaway but have not been for around 3 years and heard it had changed hands so hoped the food was still great. We went on a Weds night and it was very quiet (only table there after 8.30) which was good for us but not for them. The all you can eat has changed to a tick menu option with a limit of 5 dishes per order to stop people ordering loads and leaving food. 2 of our party of 5 were vegetarian which messes that up a little but spoke to the waiter and no issues. Food was a great as I remember. Portions were decent and no issues ordering more and were offered more starters and duck. Cost is almost £30pp which is a big jump from what I remember but in all honesty it was way too low for what you get and all restaurants have upped prices. I can understand if you are not a big eater it may not seem value for money but you can order a set menu or individual dishes so should be no issues. Overall we loved it and I just hope the lack of diners doesn't mean we might...

I have been coming here since I was a child had lots of fond memories from the past I visited last night and was appalled by everything. We had my niece 10 and nephew 12 who barely eat anything with us as where told due to there height it’s adult price for buffet there was no way we where paying £61 for them to eat some rice and a prawn toast. We asked if they could order of the À la carte menu and they refused they said you all will have to order À la carte or the buffet menu they can’t do 2 different menu for 1 table. So this is what we done. We then asked what doesn’t contain nuts because my nephew has a severe nut allergy. They said everything has traces of nuts so they can’t guarantee they don’t change the oil or cook separately. We then asked for tapwater and were told that they don’t do tapwater only bottled water that we had to pay for. The coke was flat even after we asked them to change it and the food to be honest was pretty average. The bill came to over £300 As we ordered off the à la carte menu, we asked for some takeaway boxes to take them home, they gave us two small ones between seven of us. We then asked for more and were told if we have any more their 75p each Container. Considering we’ve just spent over £300, I was gobsmacked that they were wanting to charge us 75p for a metal takeaway container. Unfortunately, will not be returning, which is such a shame, as me and all my family have loved this place for years. Unfortunately, you have lost a huge amount of custom from me and my family and from my partner’s family and all...
