Lady Grey Tea Room — Restaurant in England

Visited on a Saturday at 3.30 in the afternoon for tea because of the good reviews. What a bad idea, I'm now guessing these few reviews are less than genuine. Particularly as another group left after a very rude welcome, and our neighbouring table was extremely upset with the attitude of the staff. We simply ordered three teas, we sat at a table that was covered with used crockery which we neatly stacked to one side. A very rude member of staff removed this in three trips, clearly in a bad mood. The table covered in food was not cleaned. Walking in to order the teas, there was no warm welcome, very brusk. The teas arrived, two out of the three cups were dirty. One was dirty inside and still had lipstick on the outside. The girl inside sarcastically replaced them asking us, "are they ok?". £6.00 for three teas served in a car park in dirty cups by rude staff, not an experience we will...

Love taking the kiddywinks here for a cake treat. We usually have a cup of tea and cake, and either milkshake or hot choc and cake. The portions of cake are generous and there is always a few choices of cake.... we have tried many of them custard, cream cake, cherry bakewell cake, lemon and raspberry cake, biscoff cake, pineapple and coconut cake.... are just some of our memorable favourites and of course there are ususally the classics victoria sponge cake, coffee and walnut cake and chocolate cake. Really cute little tea shop with indoor, 'conservatory' and outdoor seating. Vegetarian & Vegan options available. We asked in advance of booking and our waiter immediately provided all the options when taking our order, without us having to ask, which was lovely customer service. The afternoon tea options are great, with 3 slight variations available. And there is a huge range of cakes, as well as other tasty looking things on the menu, and a huge range of teas and coffees.
