Lake House Cafe — Restaurant in England

I don’t usually leave reviews but this place was so awful it warrants it. Left for ages for someone to come and give us a table, service slow and orders mixed up, have to get your own cutlery and sauces if you want them as asking the staff gets you nowhere and the sandwiches were very dry. The only positives were the chips and the view. Won’t be visiting here again. It’s a shame because it has so much potential but it needs a good overhall and properly trained staff.

Update Jan 2024. I wasn't notified of the response from the owner hence I did not get in touch a second time. I'm rather surprised to find that, following an "internal investigation" I've been accused of bringing my own alcohol and being asked to leave when in fact I attended for lunch with my husband, 2 year old child and was pregnant at the time. I notice that anyone who has left a bad review on google gets accused of writing reviews with malicious intentions, and in my case, a character assasination. I recently visited the Lake House Cafe on a sunny Sunday morning, and I have mixed feelings about my experience. The location is absolutely stunning, perfect for a sunny day with beautiful lake views and a serene atmosphere. It's an ideal spot to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings.

However, the breakfast was mediocre and nothing special. The food was average and didn't particularly stand out in terms of flavor or presentation.

The waiting time for food and drinks was longer than usual, which I understand since it was a busy Sunday. However, what disappointed me was the service. Several waitresses attended to us, and two of them asked us multiple times what we had ordered. This lack of coordination felt unprofessional and added to the overall wait time.

Went for a coffee with a friend and had a very pleasant experience. The rules of entry are clearly stated on a chalk board at the entrance to the café area. The requirements are fair and reasonable with the goal of continuing protection for customers and staff alike. We were escorted to a table which we witnessed being cleaned prior to our sitting down. We were given menus and our order was taken without delay. Our coffees arrived soon after and we enjoyed a warm afternoon watching water-skiing on the lake, whilst chatting. Toward the end of our visit a reserved notice was placed on the table for the next customer. This was done with our knowledge and agreement, and in no way interrupted us, as the booking was some half hour after we intended leaving.
