Miller and Carter never fails to disappoint no matter which location it's based in! For starters beef brisket croquettes were surprisingly tasty although the portion size is quite small for the price charged. The prawn cocktail starter was served on a massive plate for it's tiny portion size. For mains the steak is always our go to dish (sirloin) and it's always nicely done - both the beef dripping sauce and three peppercorn sauce is really good. I also love how they add butter to the steak that melts so well when you pour in your hot sauce!! I prefer the bacon honey mustard for my lettuce as dressing as the other choices didn't appeal to me although garlic mayonnaise dressing was also good. I've also tried the buttermilk chicken main which was good although I think Miller is more suitable for the steak experience. The sticky toffee pudding for dessert is great and my typical go-to although we tried the creme brulee which was a little too sweet for my liking. The interiors could be a little bit more well lit although still fine. The Sunday set menu is really good value for money even with limited options!! After having visited other steak restaurants I made it a point to choose Miller for steak now as everything else is a disappointment.

We had a bit of an issue booking via the website, it kept telling me there was no availability for a Tuesday evening despite me changing the location 3 times. I couldn’t accept this as being right (I mean just how many peeps go out on a Tuesday..?!) however I tried a few days later and it worked fine allowing me to book! As it was an anniversary celebration for us we decided to go for a sharing cut, choosing the CHATEAUBRIAND 16OZ no less. The description recommends going medium-rare, so we went with that. However, I would say it was more medium, possibly medium-well done. Which was a shame really as it was a little too dry for our tastes. As it was a special occasion I didn’t want to make a fuss so we just enjoyed it for what it was. The beef dripping sauce is an absolute must, probably more of a gravy than a sauce really. The service was good from Sarah.

An impromptu date night at Miller & Carter Taplow turned out to be just what we needed. The food was excellent, and the service, courtesy of Angela, was truly exceptional! Even though we hadn't made a reservation, a quick call on our way there sorted things out. The hostess mentioned they prefer reservations, but walk-ins were fine. The restaurant was bustling when we arrived, and there was a bit of a wait, but the hostess kindly took us to our table and took our drink orders while we waited. As for the food, we went for a sirloin and ribeye steak, with the delightful addition of a grilled lobster tail. While the wedge salad didn't quite impress, the rest of the dishes were nothing short of incredible. Thank you, Angela, and the team at Miller & Carter Taplow, for turning our spontaneous night out into a memorable dining experience! 👏🍽️

STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE. This was the third time I had been to MC. And on all three occasions they somehow managed to screw up the steak. 1st time. Steak was not done to how I ordered. After it went back the manger came over and told us the kitchen was now closed. Meal ruined..!!

2nd time. Ordered steaks. Came out warm/cool. Sent back. 2nd steaks came back the same so not hot food. Meal ruined again.

3rd time. 15 Feb. Ordered the valentines menu. 3 steaks menu. All should have been cooked medium. One come medium rare. Proper red inside. Told the waitress. She tells the manager. He comes over and takes the steaks back to cooker for longer. He brings them back a few minutes later. Still red inside. He takes them back again to cooker for even more time. By this time I’m lost my appetite. I said to both of them that I was not willing to eat meat that had been reheated threee times. The chefs have no clue what they’re doing. As we were leaving I over heard another table saying their steaks were also sill red inside. This MC IS AN ABSOLUTE...

I was here midweek although nicely decorated you could tell it was a little bit tired, little marks on the banquet and hazard type on the carpet which had clearly been there for a very long time.

Food was ok at best nice because but just ok nothing to scream and shout about nothing to say you must eat here.

I may be slightly more critical as I am a chef but it certainly didn't screen come back again. Well not to me anyway.

I had the cheddar stuffed mushrooms which were button chestnut mushrooms that had been poached or boiled with a rather lank cheesy sauce poured over the top

The burger was dry overcooked and thrown together with no love, the slaw was just dolloped into a ramekin. The fries came in a little stainless steel cup only to find out that it was a cone of fries and not the full pot.

Pretty okay on the whole but you get what you pay for. Cheap and cheerfulish.

The waitress hovered over me whilst I was making the payment Which I found to be very uncomfortable, and when I selected no tip I could feel her steely eyes staring deep...
