I wanted to share my admiration for the way today's situation was handled at your establishment. With my background in hospitality and my family's ongoing involvement in management, I was thoroughly impressed by the manager's professionalism. It's well-known that booking a table on a Sunday is ideal, so despite living just two minutes away, I made a reservation for myself and my daughter. Upon our arrival, we were promptly and warmly greeted, with the manager's delightful sense of humour making my daughter feel like 'the boss'. We were informed of our table number, given menus, and guided on how to order at the bar area.

After ordering drinks, we enjoyed a pleasant chat. The food, when it arrived, was generously portioned, and with my daughter's help, we managed to finish it all except for the parsnips (I can never get used to them). Midway through our meal, a lady entered the building without waiting by the clearly marked 'please wait to be seated' sign and proceeded to the bar area. Her partner followed, but the manager politely inquired if they had a booking. Unexpectedly, the lady demanded a seat with a high back, and when the manager explained that the only available seats were the ones she could see, she accused him of discriminating against disabled people. The situation escalated quickly when the lady's partner became very aggressive, swearing and threatening to punch the manager. Despite this, the manager remained calm and politely asked him to leave, as the gentleman was causing a scene in front of a restaurant full of families with children. Eventually, the situation was de-escalated, although the couple threatened to leave a bad review, citing disability discrimination.

From the manager's perspective, and having experienced similar situations myself, I applaud the entire team for their exemplary handling of this incident. My daughter wisely advised me to stay seated and not get involved, knowing I was ready to support your colleagues. You are amazing, and don't ever let anyone make you feel otherwise. Keep up the great work, as I know how challenging it can be.

Lots of love and...

Absolutely fantastic experience at The Landing Light in Weston-super-Mare! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed warmly and made to feel right at home. The star of our visit was undoubtedly Paul, our waiter, whose friendly manner, efficiency, and genuine attentiveness made the meal all the more enjoyable. He struck the perfect balance between being present when needed and giving us space to relax.

The food was exceptional – hearty, well-prepared, and full of flavour. We were impressed by the wide selection on the menu, catering for a range of tastes and dietary needs. Each dish was served hot and beautifully presented. You could tell real care had gone into the preparation. The portions were generous, but not overwhelming, and great value for money.

The atmosphere in the pub was warm and welcoming, with a relaxed vibe that made it ideal for both families and couples. Everything was clean and well looked after, and we noticed how smoothly the whole team worked together – a credit to the management.

It’s not often that a meal out ticks every box, but The Landing Light really delivered. From Paul’s excellent service to the delicious food and pleasant surroundings, everything came together perfectly. It’s clear the team here take pride in what they do, and it shows in every detail.

We’ll definitely be returning soon, and will be recommending this gem to friends and family. A big thank you to Paul and the whole team for a...

Great service, good prices and lovely food! I enquired online about booking a table at the Landing Light less than 24 hours before our desired time. I called the restaurant an hour later to ask if someone could let me know if this would be possible. I spoke to Paul who promised he would call me before his shift finished at 10pm. At 9:30pm he called me back to say the table had been booked ready for lunch time the next day, really appreciated that! On arrival the staff were really friendly, my Wife, my son and I were shown to our table and less than 5 minutes later the waitress had taken our drinks order even though all the tables were full, really quick! As more of our party arrived they were shown to the table and their drinks orders taken right away. We ordered food and while we waited (which wasn't long at all) the play area is right outside so the kids could go and play within view of the parents, ideal! Food arrived all at the same time and it was spot on! One or 2 small things didn't come out with the mains but as soon we told the waitress she was on it straight away to sort the small issues. When my son decided he wanted to run around the restaurant the waitresses were so friendly and all said hello to him making him smile and giggle. Overall, amazing service, great food and friendly staff. Couldn't ask for more,...

Arrived early for our booking but they were still able to accommodate us, which was good. Nice quiet table as requested. Staff were great, but they had run out of Sunday roasts and several other dishes, which was really disappointing. Ordered the cauliflower wings and cheesy garlic bread to start. Disappointed that the garlic bread was microwaved not baked with absolute minimal cheese. The cauliflower wings were terrible quality. Mostly stalk. Not floret! One piece was completely inedible. We then had fish and chips which was okish. Drinks wise it was a shame the diet tonic is on draft as we weren't able to read a label to see if it's totally sugar free. Many tonics aren't. Lack of Guinness zero was surprising. Overall it was a mixed experience. Like I say the staff were lovely but the food was poor to average. I do like the LL pub but you've clearly got to book for early in the day if you want a Sunday lunch.

05/07/2021 What a place to eat caught me by surprise. Food was amazing and had a fresh and smoky taste to it. I do not normally eat chips but the ones here were amazing and seemed to be coated in fine cheese. 4oz Rump Stake - 10/10 Perfect.... Could of been more medium than rare if you want to be pedantic. 6oz Gammon Steak - 8/10 Nice but a little too salty however it may not of helped I added salt to my entire dish. PORK CHOP - 10/10 Amazing. Plenty of meat. LAMB CHOP - 10/10 Again amazing. Plenty of meat. PORK Sausage - 10/10 Beautiful but could do with two not just the one. Price £15.75 - Reasonable. Friendly staff and Covid Compliant. If I was to add one negative I would recommend to the manager not to allow big dogs in the restaurant especially a German shepherd barking at everyone. Other than that.... Highly recommend I will be returning.
