Liskeard Market Cafe — Restaurant in England

It's unfortunate that I need to make this review as I had previously visited the cafe to purchase a cold drink on a few occasions and thought it was a well run establishment.

I visited today with a friend, I ordered sausage and chips and my friend ordered a breakfast.

The "sausages" were of the lowest quality you could imagine and were almost looking anemic, floppy and no crisp, not enjoyable, I doubt they contained much meat if any.

The chips are the cheapest crinkle cut chips I've ever eaten, very basic from Aldi or Lidl.

My friends egg on his breakfast had two strands of human hair (female), I approached the till area and made the staff aware of the issue and they stated they get it all the time and it's the egg apparently that has strands ..... Doesn't sound very professional and the standards very very low.

Prices are astronomical for the quality served.

The best breakfast you'll get for the money. Here on holiday and we normally shop around to trial different cafes and breakfasts. Not this time. We're confident we wouldn't find better than this so keep coming back. The market breakfast is amazing value for money. 3 bacon, 3 sausages, 2 hash browns, 2 fried eggs, mushrooms, toast, beans and 'tinned' tomatoes, not the usual half sliced grilled tomato rubbish. Always cooked to perfection, served on hot plates. All for £8!!! Good luck finding better! Dog friendly, always made to feel welcome. Nothing too much trouble. The food was good, but the prices! This ended up being an expensive breakfast at a cafe for us. £19.70 for 2 sandwiches, a tea and a small orange juice. I couldn't quite understand how it worked out to be so much but then realised the charge for additional items is alot.

I had a bacon, sausage and cheese sandwich. To which I was asked if I wanted 2 bacon, 1 sausage and cheese. Not realising, but assume I was charged extra for the '2nd bacon'. I understood the cheese was extra but extras are steep! If I was ordering a bacon sandwich, what would I get, 1 piece of bacon... £1.95 for a sausage or piece of bacon.

£4.20 for a fried egg sandwich and nearly £5 for chips. Steep prices...
