I was torn between two and three stars. If I could rate stars for location is give a zero if going by car , parking is awful and the location of the shop in the summer months must be a nightmare. I was lucky to try this place early during winter months and got parked okay. Having seen the rave about Lucy's bakes pasties we had to try it , a family of six who all love a pasty. My eldest son wasn't keen said it was too far salty, the rest of us said it absolutely could of done with less salt. But in all honesty I didn't see what the rave was about. Sure the people there are lovely it's a friendly atmosphere but the pasties was neither good nor bad. I've had better but also I've had far worse. I guess I like to leave an honest review this is that. Would I go there again , no , not for a pasty. Would I try the cakes maybe if parking was easier. I think it's place we as a family will give a miss. But good luck to the owners because a whole there is more people liking the place than not so clearly will be very successful and wish you the best. Everyone has their own taste this just...
Read moreLucy kindly created a stunning masterpiece for my mother's 70th birthday, at a very reasonable price! I can't decide whether it tasted better than it looked or looked better than it tasted because it was so beautifully made, but also quite possibly the tastiest cake I've ever eaten!
She gave me a nice list or flavours and fillings, and asked me to take my pick. We went for coffee flavour, with white chocolate hazelnut filling and it was incredible! Everybody loved it! Texture was absolutely perfect, and it the icing wasn't sickly at all, which meant we couldn't stop eating it!! Lucy also kindly added two small bottles of whiskey in the design as it's my Mum's favorite drink.
I will definitely be using Lucy again for my father's 70th this October, she's doesn't know it yet though.
Thank you again Lucy for putting a huge smile on...
Read moreWe love these pasties as they taste homemade and are up there as our favourites so are happy to travel a distance for them. However, on three occasions now, early afternoon there have been none left. Today, after 13:30, there were plenty in the counter, however, we were told we could not have any of them because Lucy had just phoned to say that a family was coming down to buy them so they were putting all of the pasties aside. This feels very unfair, we are a family too. Surely a pastie shop should be first come, first serve. We wonât be going out of our way to make...
