Mama Rosa — Restaurant in England

If I could give 0 stars, I would.

This was, without a doubt, one of the worst meals I've ever had. The bruschetta came out as slices of supermarket bread with cheap, watery salad tomatoes dumped on top, sprinkled with raw garlic that not only gave us heartburn but left the most disgusting aftertaste imaginable.

The mains didn’t improve things. The lasagne was borderline offensive—dry, flavorless, and made with what tasted like canned sauce and frozen mince. The baked ricotta pasta was the only thing remotely edible, but still nothing to write home about. The Quattro Stagioni pizza? Genuinely worse than a £4 pizza from a cheap chain like Pizza GoGo. The base was soggy, the toppings tasteless, and the cheese rubbery.

What really sealed the deal was the waitress’s attitude. When we (politely) mentioned how poor the ingredients were, she just shrugged and said, “We’re too busy to make sauce here—we get it in big containers from Huddersfield.” That says it all.

This place is a perfect example of how low standards have become—just because people in the area don’t care about ingredient quality, places like Mama Rosa can cut every corner and still get glowing reviews. Why bother with fresh sauce or decent tomatoes when customers don’t notice or don’t care?

If you care even a little about what you put in your body, do not eat here. You'll leave feeling sick, ripped off, and wondering how on earth this place...

My ratings here aren't any higher because I ordered a last minute take away. I can't really critique mama Rosa's properly until I eat there. I ordered a tomato based seafood pasta dish 20mins before they were due to close lunch service. I got there at closing time and felt quite bad about ordering so late. I don't know Leighton buzzard and didn't know they had a lovely little Italian restaurant there. The staff were amazing and accommodating. The food was very nice, and the portion was insane. I was eating it for most of the day. The atmosphere was non existent as I already mentioned they were closing. It looked lovely inside the restaurant. Very rustic looking, with that feel of Italy everywhere. I will eat in the restaurant in the future and offer a better review. We had a very poor experience. When I booked table I was told I only had an hour and half to eat then we had to leave, usually this is fine but the service is so slow, there’s hardly time to have a main course let alone a dessert! Service was poor from start to finish. One of the dishes we had wasn't nice. Mentioned to waiter, money was knocked of the bill but the waiter told us it was waste of food and nothing was wrong with it!
