Very disappointed with the cleanliness, service (Ben was the exception, cleaning and clearing), and food.

My dinner guest's food was good, hence the two stars 🌟 🌟

I had been looking forward to an authentic lasagne, ordered a lasagne, when it arrived it was a lasagne in a bath of kinda lasagne flavoured water (see pictures).

I fished out the robust block from the bath, tried it and it wasn't great, I had ordered wedges which were delicious, I dipped them in the bath and it was tasteless.

I tried to make eye contact with the waiter who was busy collecting and washing the glasses and clearing tables, the waitress was talking to some ladies on table 4. My dining guest was half way through the meal when I left table 1 and went up to the waiter who was busy trying to clean up and let him know i wasn't happy with the meal.

He took it away and offered to get the chef to plate me up another one. I had honestly lost my appetite for lasagne by now and said i didn't want it replaced but thanked him for the offer.

I ate the delicious wedges, we finished, waited then got up and stood at the bar waiting for the bill.

The waitress asked if we'd enjoyed our meal. I said i thought it was obvious it wasn't. She said they had had a busy party before we arrived. I said i understood,i had been a waitress before and thought that it was important that things were cleared away and cleaned up before socialising. I hoped she didn't mind my honest feedback. She said it was only her and Ben. I said I saw and I saw Ben was working hard to clear up.

Well done if you got this far. I don't write lightly. This is a favourite pizzaria in Driffield and my view might not be popular.

I've added photos of the food that was left by the table next to us (long gone). There was also chips in the corner diagonally opposite us, I didn't take a photo as guests had been sat there too.

The food on the floor was on the floor on our arrival and was still there when we left about an hour later.

Hope I've been constructive.

Ben removed the cost of the lasagne...

Staff lovely 😁 service a little slow, I think they try not to over load kitchen or bar by pacing the orders through. A little like the NHS shuffling you around. Starter prawn cocktail salad fresh and crispy but dish needed seasoning and rosemary sauce bland and not creamy like it been watered down. Pizza homemade they said, I think they premade frozen bases I maybe wrong but I don't think so. I had 4 cheeses had extra toppings olives and peperoni at 1 pound each extra but worth paying pizza was not cut served whole knife and fork provided be careful with knife blade a little flexible Takes 6 second s to cut a pizza 🙄 pizza a little salty and not garnished or if it was they hid it well. Had a Guinness well 2 from a can I think but cold and refreshing. 😁 Over all was OK but OK seems to be the norm in many places in UK such a shame just a few little things would really make a difference decent fresh pepper fresh made pizza bases some really nice olives and...

Friday 14th June

My daughter and her friend went for a special meal for her Birthday tonight , they have come away feeling very disappointed and frustrated. They both had pizza which in their words was disgusting, sloppy tasteless and greasy ,it hadn’t been cut so they had to struggle with normal knives to try and cut it up, All the topping fell off when you lifted it up to eat .and just wasn’t cooked enough . They were the last customers in and weren’t very popular when they wanted to order desserts it was only 9.15 pm , the waitress tried to avoid taking their order, which then took 30 minutes for the deserts to arrive, they had chocolate fudge cake and profiteroles which again they were very disappointed. My daughter and her friend felt uncomfortable, the service was slow the waitress was on her phone behind the bar so with that and the awful food not a good night a bill of over £31.00 really finished the...

Started out ok. Restaurant was obviously busy but we were seated at our booked table promptly and politely. Drinks were ordered and was going well, garlic bread starter and a bowl of olives were good. On to the main, Calzone,.....poor. half filled to the point the ends had no filling whatsoever. Filling all in the centre and upon digging sat on the top was what can only be value wager thin ham??? Seriously an Italian restaurant should be serving a good quality Prosciutto. Not the cheapest on the market. The wife's tagliatelle was equally as disappointing, bland and salty. 3* at best. Could be do much better if care was taken in kitchen.

A cold Monday night saw us visit Marco Polo’s for a meal out. I have been loads when I was younger and nothing much has changed. We rang up and booked ahead of time and then on the night was greeted by a few staff members. We were hosted by a new starter and was her first ever table! We ordered some starters and mains to come out all at once which they were happy to do. Food came out after about 15 minutes and all had great taste barring the fried squid which admittedly was somewhat bland. Everything is priced well too which is great. You can also book party bookings. Will definitely be back for sure!
