The Butchers Dog — Restaurant in Great Britain

The Butchers Dog is a 'micro' pub in Driffield although - since moving to new premises - it has the feel of a traditional pub. The focus here is on Real Ale and although they rarely have anything groundbreaking or exciting on they serve a good selection of styles with warm, friendly service.

They do food sporadically and if they're not serving they're happy for you to bring your own food in. The location is well-served by a decent bakery.

Nice little restaurant tucked behind the micropub. There was a great selection of dishes on the menu. We had BBQ ribs starter which were perfect and very tasty. The mains were a decent size and good value for money. There were some minor disappointments in the mains hence 4 instead of 5 stars. I felt the green onion was chopped a little too big to eat - although that’s a personal preference perhaps, and there was a piece of egg shell in my fried rice. I was invited down to the once a month pub quiz and not being a regular wondered what kind of reception I word receive. I was pleasantly surprised when I had a very pleasant welcome from the bar lady and several regulars. Being a .micro pub I didn't see a drink I recognised but after some expert guidance settled on a drink.
