Market Square Bakery — Restaurant in England

The reason for a poor review is a disappointing one that could so easily be avoided. The food we have had is nice. The problem was we placed our order in advance and went to collect it. We were given the order and told nothing, when we arrived home and opened the order they had replaced an item with a different item (one I do not like) in addition the item they replaced our choice with is a cheaper product but we were not offered the money back, we were not told or asked about the replacement. I feel that they have let themselves down on customer service, the part that should be easy to get right. If you are going to this bakery do not expect that your order is correct just because they pack it and tell you it is, check it there and then and check the prices if you do accept any swapped items. It has left me feeling that they are dishonest and I do not think I will be buying from there again,...

Have been coming here for over 20 years even after I moved 3 hours away every time I go down to see family I have phoned and reserved a substantial amount of cheese straws over 50 I have never missed collection and have previously paid over the phone .. today however the lady was very patronising and had quite an attitude about the situation excuse being people missed the collection and dont turn up so we don’t reserve anymore I understand that issue as it’s loss of money but when a customer has offered to pay over the phone and has previously done this more so one who has been coming to your bakery for over 20 years appalling and will lose a lot of custom that member of staff I spoke to also needs training in customer service her attitude utterly disgusting and patronising !!! You have now lost one and many more as my entire family used your bakery who are in your area...

Cakes were brilliant. I've only put 4 stars overall as i ordered a too good to go box for £14.99 (6 cakes (we only got 5, breads and a savory baked good . It seemed really good value until my husband went in to the shop in person later in the day (my kids were arguing over who would have each cake so it was easier to let them pick their own). The cakes were 4 for 4.99 in bakery and i don't think the rest of my too good to go order would have equalled another £10 had we got it from the bakery and it would have been freshly baked rather than from the day before. Next time we will just go in and pick what we want rather than the too...
