Firstly I must say my friend thoroughly enjoyed his food and so did the 4 people on the table next to us. I went there on friday 22 November with a mate who has takeaways from here on a regular basis. The restaurant was fairly empty and the time to order was about right. Ordered starters and main meals. My starter was ok but I asked them to give us 10 mins between courses which turned out to be about 3 mins. They got our meals mixed up, which for me was not good because my friend has a 3 chilli strength and I have a fairly mild meal. I had a mouthful of curry which took my head off. Within seconds I was sweating and my mouth was on fire. They replaced my food very quickly when I complained, but all I could taste was chilli hot food. I ate about 3 to mouthful and left it. I asked for the bill and told them I was jot paying for my meal. They were not happy and the manager less than his folk. I was made to feel the one in the wrong. I ended up not paying for the main course but for the rice that was covered in sauce. Recommend this...
Read moreI ordered food here that took quiet a while to arrive that includes the starter. Wine does not take long at all nor do poppadoms. Seems to attract people with children. Food itself, not good, too much red food colouring in all dishes and my meal which I was promised would be cooked the way I like it, no, I had to return it I ordered a Dhansak which was not how a Dhansak should be cooked, too red in colour and the flavour was not there of a proper Dhansak, portions are also on the skimpy side. This restaurant seems over rated but again it depends on how much you know about Bangladeshi food and how long you been eating Bangladeshi food, the old chefs no longer work or they passed away or moved back to their hometown, but the younger cooks or chefs dont know how to properly cook the food, its rushed in the kitchens and dyed red to make it look appealing to certain customers. Red food colouring should not be used in cooking Indian dishes or Bangladeshi dishes it means they are not using proper spices. Wont be going to this...
Read moreNot sure what happened to this restaurant. We used them all the time, and it used to be brilliant. The last delivery we had was a Tikka Massala and a Butter Chicken, both quite thick sauces, yet ours was absolutely full of water. It looked as though they were running out of sauce and had tried to make it stretch by adding water. What was worse was the handling of the complaint, unprofessional, and argumentative staff on the phone. Will not be using this restaurant again, sadly. Such a shame as it was great to have a nice restaurant in our hometown. What was worse is that I was promised a call back by the manager to try to resolve the issue (I was expecting either a refund or a gesture of goodwill), but sadly, I was never contacted. This speaks volumes about how little they care about the customer or the quality of food they supply. The reply the business has made is a template, meaningless, exercise in trying to look as if they do care when their actions...
