Masala Midsomer — Restaurant in England

Order took nearly 2 hours to arrive, and eventually on delivery was told we should have ordered over the phone to get a better price.

Drink was not included in delivery, so delivery driver asked if I wanted her to return to get the drink (which we ordered and paid for) and come back with it half an hour later.

The curries themselves were amongst the worst my partner and I have ever had. Absolutely full of oil/grease, and a masala sweeter than a bowl of frosties.

The chef told me they pan fry the garlic, and presumably pour the oil from the pan in to the curry aswell. He also assured me their masala is sweeter than most others, although this is not mentioned on the menu. If the garlic and onions (which appeared and tasted to have been caramelised) are added to the masala from a hot oil filled pan, this could explain the very sweet flavour too.

The blatent and overpowering flavour was coconut, which is odd for a dish containing a reasonable amount of garlic.

No offer was made to put things right or offer any form of solution out side of next time you order, order something else.

Needless to say, we wouldn't order from here again - which is a shame as there are virtually no good local Indian takeaways in...

To say I’m annoyed is an understatement. Ordered at 7:25pm on a sat night fully expecting it to be around an hour wait for delivery. Order confirmation says 105 min. Gets to 9pm, try ringing just to get an update but no answer, 9:30 same again and finally 9:45 still no answer. 10pm I’m extremely annoyed by this point and eating this late is not for me. Try calling one last time still no answer. Had to drive down there to be told the order has been delivered but unfortunately the driver has already gone home so as to who it was delivered to they have no idea.

At this point all I want is a refund but it still took me arguing with them to be told as it’s an online order that the boss would have to sort.

So at the time of writing this still no order and no refund. Hopefully it will be returned to our bank in the next few days. Needless to say we will not be ordering from here again and to others thinking about it...

Ordered food at 5.50pm. Told it would take 45mins to 1 hour. 1 hour 10mins later called as it hadnt arrived told its "just left" . Its a 5 minute journey . Half an hour later still not here so called again. Was told driver had 3 deliverys Ill try call him. Half hour later still no delivery..so were 2 hours after initial call! Asked to speak to boss....who said hed called delivery man . We asked if hecwas willing to discount meal. He said he would discount it about 15% . We told him we didnt want a cold meal and so to call delivery driver to let him know. Delivery driver arrived 10 minutes later..he hadnt had a call from boss!!! Surprise surprise. Awful customer service ..will NEVER order...
