I'd just like to share my negative experience today. I called in as I had an hour spare before an appointment and figured I'd utilise my time by completing a quick module for a course I'm on. I was welcomed in and grabbed a seat in the corner and set up my Ipad. The friendly lady brought me a menu. I asked for her cake recommendation as I couldn't decide. She was great. A couple of minutes later my coffee and carrot cake were brought to me with a smile while I logged in to my training portal. 20 minutes or so later another lady came over and gestured me to take my headphones off to tell me, "You can't do that in here we are not an Internet cafe. We are not allowed to charge our phones so neither are you. You know electricity is expensive and we don't have Internet like that you need to go somewhere else" I was absolutely mortified id just been asked to leave!! I must note it wasn't busy only 3 indoor tables occupied 11:30am. May I suggest that you don't display the WiFi password on the walls and at the counter if WiFi is not to be used. Or advise people before they order and log in to their devices. I'm sure on the whole most people will like this place but to be asked to leave for using an ipad...
Read moreAlways enjoy going here, never once had a bad experience and I've been a fair few times over the years. The place is always clean and tidy, it gets very busy and the standards never drop. They have outside seating too so if you have a dog I have seen a dog bowl with water if needed. There is a toilet there and it is wheel chair friendly. The staff are always on point, dead polite, dead friendly (and professional) and you're guaranteed service with a smile. The food is amazing here too, I normally have a full English with super thick toast but, they have a veggie breakfast. They have a menu for breakfast and dinner dishes, it was burger and chips today on the board so tou can hsve tea there too. Everything seems to be cooked to order, nice and fresh, hot and cooked well. Never had a bad bit of food there and neither has any of my friends. They sell alcohol and cakes, the cakes look incredible and the lemon meringue is 🤌🏽 chefs kiss! There is a kids play area across the way so can nip in for food and smoothie afterwards too. 100% recommend...
Read moreI'm self employed and go to cafes everyday to work as I like the ambience and it helps me to focus. I don't often buy food because of cost (and food allergies) and I typically make one drink stretch 1 hour or more before I buy another or move on as, again, cost, and the fact that I don't go there because I'm thirsty. I understand that this can be seen as a bit miserly and annoying for cafes, but the way I see it my custom will add up over time the same as someone who comes in say, only once a week, and orders food - AND I try not to occupy a table when the cafe is busy, so as not to deny the cafe more high paying customers.
Anyway, I got the vibe from staff after a few visits that my visits were not particularly welcome, and finally on one occasion I was asked after half an hour to buy a second drink or leave as "This isn't an internet cafe". The cafe was about 3/4 empty at the time.
I left and won't be...
