This has to be one of the worst McDonalds I have frequented. Unfortunately this is the only Drive thru in Daventry as well as the only late night takeaway option, with all others in Daventry closing around 10 -11pm. From incorrect orders to consistent subpar and under performing customer serivice, consuming from here is here an unenjoyable chore, one that I only indulge in when it is is other peoples money being spent. I cannot justify spending my own money here. Please see below for an in depth description of my ratings.
Correct Order 2/10 :
For the last 2 months I have attended perhaps once a week, as a treat for my partner, or to retrieve food for colleagues late at night. Every time, without fail there has been an issue with the order. From incorrect drinks, to missing items, to completely wrong orders, it has been so consistent that I double check the order at the payment window, and check the entire bag before driving off. I have received burgers without buns, incorrect sauces on food, and an ignorance to changes to an item, almost causing an allergy issue to arise.
Customer Service 3/10 :
The customer service is terrible here. The payment window alone causes frustration, as you can hear the staff taking the order have are distracted multitasking and are not paying attention. I could give my order and watch a completely different order repeatedly appear on the screen. Fast food I think not. The staff themselves do appear alive when interacting face to face at the payment window, though i have watched staff in the background in tears crying against the wall multiple times in the past, which is not promising for the environment they are working in. This was however at 11pm so was not due to a high customer influx. The worst part of the customer service is receiving the food, usually without a word from the staff who should be the face of the business. I have a personal gripe with one staff member who will hold my order inside the window of the restaurant to a point where I have to climb out the window to be able to reach it, all the while without a word from the staff member. The happiest staff members incidentally are the ones who bring the food to cars parked up, they are always a pleasure to interact with.
Cleanliness N/A:
I cannot comment on the cleanliness of the restaurant as I do not eat within it. The outside is usually well kept though rats can be seen occasionally, this is obviously going to happen with any eatery, but measures are in place to prevent it, which is nice to see.
Speed 8/10
The speed of this McDonalds is noticeable and efficient, with the drive thru constantly moving forward as well as interior customers rotating through the queue at a noticeable speed. The longest wait time you could experience is 5 minutes, with the exception being late at night / early morning, as of course the food must be cooked to order, which is understandable.
Food Quality 4/10
The food quality is often poor, with cold soggy fries, and poorly constructed burgers. As stated above, items are often incorrect or missing, though the real gripe here is obviously, black bits from the face of the grill covering items, and the last of a batch being given, resulting in a unenjoyable, lukewarm meal. Salt is often absent from the fries, causing further sadness.
Cost 7/10:
The cost of the products isn't the worst. Some items are clearly overpriced and not worth it, with substantial increases in the last years. Other staples, such as a Big Mac Meal are still reasonably priced. I would recommend always getting a medium meal as you DO NOT get more fries with a large. The average cost of food here is reasonable and cannot be too heavily critiqued, especially with recent deals such as the McFiver and Mcmuffin Breakfast deal.

Read moreFood is good when you buy at the restaurant however ordering for delivery from here should be avoided as you not guaranteed to get what you ordered and no easy way to get money back. I have ordered a few times and received very small portions and poor quality food so i haven't ordered delivery from there again, it safer to just get it your self if you prefer quality food leading on to visiting the restaurant.
This is the only big franchise in a 15 mile radius so you would expect it to at least be bigger and better and of course more parking which it doesn't.
The restaurant itself is not very big two kid parties would probably fill the restaurant. The serving area is small and you will be battling with uber drivers to get to the front. It is kept fairly clean, can't comment on toilets as haven't used them yet.
The parking area is very small considering again you have customers and uber drivers parking. There's probably about 20 parking spots this includes roughly 2 disabled parking and 3 electric parking so very limited. There is side street parking but the restaurant is located between a petrol station and royal mail with built up surrounding area.
The drive through is small and long queues build up outside which means if you want to sit in or collect you will have a long wait to get in and then will struggle for parking. Remember this is serving entire Daventry and surrounding areas as your closest others are probably Rugby and Northampton.
The food quality when collecting is excellent and cooked fresh even when it is busy which i was impressed by (why cant you do this for delivery customers as you even charge higher menu prices) , you also get decent portion of fries.
The staff are friendly and seem happy when I have visited, despite them handling a lot of customers and uber drivers.

First of all, our number was moved to the "Ready for collecting" column and we still had to wait 10 mins to receive our order. As we see they are just trying to improve their statistics with cheating which is very rude on customers... We had to ask for it!! And then, when a simpleton girl in white shirt woth ponytail finally brought our order, we did not understood clearly what number she called so we asked back and as though we were not standing in front of her she was just flirting with her boyfriend and disregarded our question. Then she walked away. Finally she came back so we asked again in her face directly what number it was then she finally noticed us and answered and then she kept on flirting with her boyfriend again, so we did not get attention... We finally managed to ask if we could get ketchup and she plainly answered "£0.1" and kept on enternaining her boyfriend. Seriously... This very low level, uninteligent chick who does not think "customer first" should CLEAN TOILETS elsewhere. She was a literal jerk. Thanks for the bad...
