Hmmm. I’m a veggie of 33 years and I’ve never eaten a McDonalds burger. However, I have a 5/10 year old who like the fish finger happy meal and vegan burger so maybe once every two months I force myself to allow them inappropriate, nutrition deficient, plastic food like a McDonalds. The fruit and and veg I load them up with each day counter balances this nonsense food. So the last 10 or so times I have been here in last 3 years I’ve specifically asked for ketchup dips and almost every time I’m told “it’s in the bag” only to get home, or carry on a journey on motorway, and find it isn’t at all. Tonight was no exception as I looked in my daughters HM bag and couldn’t see it whilst by the servers window, so I asked the girl if I could have ketchup and was abruptly told it was in there. Oh, I thought, with my busy 48 year old brain and no glasses, I must have made a mistake when I glanced in the box. No I hadn’t! Get home and neither of the meals had any ketchup. Now I usually wouldn’t care unless I’m on a motorway but I knew I had none at home (which is why I had asked) so to get home and my kids not have any was, well annoying and a failure on my part as this was my Friday night rare treat. My daughter didn’t eat her fish fingers because they were soggy and she couldn’t cover up with ketchup, and my son didn’t eat all his chips because he likes the treat of ketchup to dip in. So I agree with other reviewers. Check your food before driving off because we always have something missing. Once we were missing the fish fingers!
I never complain (who complains about ketchup?) but tonight I did. It wasn’t really about the ketchup it’s that I had specifically asked for some and was told by some teenager I already had it in my box and bag (turns out I was right and she was wrong) and my children’s treat was spoiled by lack of customer service. The lovely lady I spoke to on phone was very understanding and apologetic and even offered a free meal. I turned down that offer as that’s not why I was calling (to get something free) I would just prefer improved service. ...
Read moreThe food itself at McDonalds is always made in good time and the service is always good. I never usual write reviews but there was one thing that I witnessed that I felt like I needed to make aware. When I went in on the Wednesday I witnessed an altercation and saw as what I think was a manger speaking to a staff member in front of the public. I was absolutely appalled by the unprofessionalism and the way that this lady spoke to her employee. The employee that she spoke to was lovely she was working very hard constantly doing something, she also went out her way to go up to customers and take away there trays when finished! I’ve never seen such a kind act in a McDonald’s before and want to really compliment her on how well she worked. It’s a shame I don’t know her name so that she can get a compliment but she was an older lady. The manger came up to her employee and said in an aggressive tone how a customer had asked for a tissue and was annoyed that she hadn’t got it yet for the customer. Baring in mind the employee is very busy and already doing tasks it was very unreasonable for the manger to have a go at her and give her such dirty looks right in front of customers faces!! I felt very uncomfortable from interaction and it actually made me very upset for the most of the day. After this altercation happened I went up to the employee herself and told her I didn’t like the way her manger spoke to her and I also said how hard she’s been working as she wasn’t getting told that by her own manger so I felt like I had to do that job because she looked so upset bless her. I am writing this review hoping that there will be some self reflect here to treat people how you want to be treated as mental health is very important. Instead of being rude and not appreciating employees you should be very thankful of that lady as she was working very hard! It’s a shame that the customers had to witness this as things like this should be addressed in private and not in that manner and certainly not infront...
Read moreI have never ordered from McDonald's in Leighton Buzzard, and actually received my correct items. More fool me for going back however, there isn't much to eat otherwise. The issues are always that our money is taken, however, items are never in the bag when we collect the food. Today, I ordered a McPlant burger, and as a customisation, I asked for normal cheese, rather than the vegan cheese which doesn't seem to have properties which allow it to MELT. Where do you think the lovely employees of McDonalds placed the regular cheese I asked for in its place? In a fillet-of-fish box. As in, the cheese slice was on cardboard. Who can peel warm cheese away from cardboard? Nobody can. So unless I was supposed eat a burger with a layer of cardboard in it, I'm unsure and unclear as to what was expected of me. I also ordered Halloumi fries which I'm sure a member of staff has pleasantly enjoyed because I sure didn't! Do you want to know why? They were never given to me in the first place although I paid for them. Check your bags, because obviously, it's on us as the customers to do the job that others are actually paid to do. Why look at an order screen and double check before giving a customer what they need when customers can just leave the restaurant without what they are entitled to? Rather than me head back to the store, and walking in myself so that I could throw the food over the counter and express how furious I am at the accumulation of awful service, I thought this was far more in line with what a good human should do. Sometimes, it would be lovely to get what you actually pay for but who am I to ask of that? Maybe the whole mystery bag thing is something you should incorporate on your menu. Crazy stuff. (The photo of my desk is where the halloumi fries I ordered were...
