Mexican Fire Garden — Restaurant in England

Pleasant staff, and large quantities of food. However, it was very bland and it caused me to have diarrhoea and vomiting. The rice seemed stale and the time lag between my having eaten and the onset of vomiting was about 4 hours, so likely bacillus cereus or similar. Diarrhoea followed at about 6-8 hours, and I lost 2kg in 3 days.

We were in a hurry to eat, stopping here while travelling through, and managed to get in and out in about 20 minutes, and so we were grateful that the staff here were so friendly and efficient. My Chimichanga was the size of a throw-pillow. Contents of chimichanga were nondescript and stodgy, like a cheese pasty, with occasional vegetable shapes in the paste. Very little in the way of fragrance nor of any spice. Exact recollection of the taste is difficult as it was so similar when I tasted it the second time, but I recall being confused by how bland it was. This is a rare thing for Mexican food, even when done poorly. Guacamole was soupy and over-processed, and seemed only distantly related to avocados. Sour cream very gelatinous, and had corners. The rice was extremely white, with dots of colour from random vegetables which were somehow not detectable by taste or texture. There was a small perfunctory green salad of limp green leaves in gloopy dressing. My partner became sad when eating, imagining people for whom this was the only place they could travel to to get Mexican food. I am not familiar with the local area but perhaps this is the only Mexican food for miles, and locals are trapped in a Mexican food Plato's cave.

We booked for a Birthday party of 9 - the booking process was very quick and there was a deposit of £5 per person - there are also options to walk in as well but all smooth and easy and prepared for us to sit down straight away!

The atmosphere is amazing and the service is wonderful - the server who I'm assuming is also the owner (apologies if incorrect) is lovely and a breath of fresh air. He was chatty, vibrant and fun and great with the kids we had at the table.

The decoration and theming is brilliant, and the sombreros were a fun touch! The food is absolutely amazing - The portions were quite generous and I personally think great value for money. They took extra care with our order and we couldnt have enjoyed it more. Massive compliments to the chef!!

We were lucky enough to get a lovely birthday moment so thank you very much for that it really made the night.

Driving through Kettering last night we were looking for something different for dinner. Lockdown has seen some big changes on what you can get for delivery / takeaway, so we were excited to find a Mexican restaurant nearby offering order and collection. We parked up and placed an order, all very easy to choose and pay for what we wanted. We only waited a few minutes before our order was ready to collect. The restaurant was easy to find, with good parking nearby. Really nice cosy place, nicely themed decor, very clean and welcoming with good access through the front door. Friendly greeting, prompt service and back out the door, order in hand in a couple of minutes. We live 30 mins away from the restaurant, but the food was still hot when we got home.
