The reality of Candi A Mums DiaryThe reality of Candi A Mums Diary
We came here for a very rare date night. We had high expectations as we had heard many a good thing. We loved the sound of all the food and we went when it was fairly quiet. We ordered 2 sharer starters that on the menu seemed very different but the reality was they were very much the same ( one had cheese dip one had pesto, both with bread and olives ) We went wanting to order the tomahawk butbit was unavailable and we were advised to order a different one which we did. The steak was perfect!!! Never had steak so soft and easy before. The onion bread that came out with it was a little oily and I was slightly annoyed to be advised to have one fries and one sweet potato fries (and not informed it cost and extra £1) We ordered a side dish of lobster and prawn tempura. But again it was very oily and with the oily onion bread and oily prawn/lobster it was a bit much. The pudding we ordered the treat selection and this was perfect. Not a fault to be found. Each little treat was lovely. A good experience and I'm glad we tried it. The staff could be slightly more friendly, many looked bored and some of the women looked slightly under presented. But over hearing other tables they had a great knowledge of the wines and food.

This place exceeded our expectations by far. We were recommended to visit for lunch by some friends. Having always driven past it, we had assumed it was just another chain restaurant we couldn’t have been more wrong. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding. Aga, our server, was exceptional she had a great eye for detail, made us feel incredibly welcome, and ensured we were well looked after throughout. Her friendly and engaging manner really elevated our experience. The food was excellent too both great value and high quality. Their lunch offer clearly attracts many, and it’s easy to see why. We had six people in our party, each ordering something different, and every dish was delicious. The little extra touches, along with the great atmosphere turned our lunch into a memorable day out. Most importantly, it’s a place we would wholeheartedly recommend to others, knowing they would enjoy it just as much. We are guaranteed to return, and I wouldn’t hesitate to encourage anyone to give it a try.

First time I have ever complained to staff in a restaurant. The nachos were cheap supermarket types, with the burger cheese slice chucked on top and tasteless dips. I ordered the butcher's burger and they really did butcher principal of a burger. I requested medium rare and it came well cooked to the point the burger party would make a thud noise on the plate. The onion loaf was rock solid and would have been an ideal replacement Ice hokey puck. The burger sauce was salty and over powering. This is the first time I have ever refused to eat the rest of my plate. Once we complained we were treated like nothing was wrong and we were money grabbing. Very disappointing for the price of £17.15. On the plus side the chips are passable. Although a little salty. To the staff of miller, if you would like to be shown a proper stake house I would be happy to take you to one and show you how it should be done. You have my number :) .

From the moment we stepped through the doors of Miller & Carter in Swindon, we knew we were in for something special. The warm, ambient lighting and elegant décor set the tone for a relaxed yet refined evening.

The staff were exceptional—friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Our server took the time to explain the different cuts of steak and helped us choose the perfect wine to match our meal. It made the whole experience feel personalised and welcoming.

Now onto the food—what an absolute treat! The steaks were cooked to perfection: tender, juicy, and full of flavour. Each cut was beautifully presented with their signature onion loaf, seasoned fries, and a rich, indulgent Stilton sauce that added a bold, creamy punch to every bite. The wedge salad was a refreshing and generous accompaniment, and we appreciated the thoughtful choice of dressings.

We rounded off the meal with a glorious banoffee pie—creamy, sweet, and indulgent without being too heavy. Absolutely delicious. And I have to give a special mention to the piña coladas—easily the best we’ve had anywhere. Smooth, tropical, and dangerously drinkable!

Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just treating yourself to a great night out, Miller & Carter Swindon offers a top-tier dining experience that never feels rushed or impersonal. It’s classy without being pretentious—just really, really good food and drink served with care. Highly recommended. We’ll be...

We recently celebrated a double birthday at Miller & Carter in Swindon, and our experience was nothing short of exceptional. Our party of seven visited for Saturday lunch, and from start to finish, the meal surpassed all expectations.

The food was absolutely fantastic. Each dish was meticulously prepared and presented, and every bite was a delight. The steaks, in particular, were cooked to perfection, tender and bursting with flavour. The sides and desserts were equally impressive, showcasing the kitchen's attention to detail and commitment to quality.

A special mention must go to our waitress, Aga, who was superb. Her friendly and cheerful demeanour added a wonderful touch to our celebration. Aga was incredibly efficient, ensuring that our drinks were topped up and our courses were served promptly, all while maintaining a warm and welcoming smile. Her excellent service truly enhanced our dining experience.

Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better meal or a more enjoyable celebration. Miller & Carter in Swindon provided us with an unforgettable dining experience, thanks to the outstanding food and the exemplary service from Aga. We look forward to returning and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a...

We came to miller & carter for dinner a few nights back and oh my!! What an experience, from the moment we walked through the door to paying the bill, we were looked after by possibly the nicest member of staff I’ve ever come across. Firstly, our drinks were served to us in under 2 minutes to say the least, our cocktails were delicious too! Secondly, our food was honestly outstanding, I’ve been to some of the best restaurants in London, Miller and Carter was up there with some of the absolute best. I highly recommend the beef dripping sauce to go with a steak! Our food was piping hot and the portion sizes were unbelievable, more than enough to graze and feast through. Pudding was really tasty and a lovely way to finish the meal, we chose the multiple pudding dish to share and so glad we did! The atmosphere was cosy, warm, comforting and literally felt like you were eating a 5* meal in the comfort of your own home. We went on a Saturday night so naturally, it was busy but nothing felt rushed and the staff acted extremely professional considering there was a lot of tables to serve. Miller and Carter thank you to all of your chefs, staff and amazing hosting. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we booked for Boxing...
