We came here for a very rare date night. We had high expectations as we had heard many a good thing. We loved the sound of all the food and we went when it was fairly quiet. We ordered 2 sharer starters that on the menu seemed very different but the reality was they were very much the same ( one had cheese dip one had pesto, both with bread and olives ) We went wanting to order the tomahawk butbit was unavailable and we were advised to order a different one which we did. The steak was perfect!!! Never had steak so soft and easy before. The onion bread that came out with it was a little oily and I was slightly annoyed to be advised to have one fries and one sweet potato fries (and not informed it cost and extra £1) We ordered a side dish of lobster and prawn tempura. But again it was very oily and with the oily onion bread and oily prawn/lobster it was a bit much. The pudding we ordered the treat selection and this was perfect. Not a fault to be found. Each little treat was lovely. A good experience and I'm glad we tried it. The staff could be slightly more friendly, many looked bored and some of the women looked slightly under presented. But over hearing other tables they had a great knowledge of the wines and food.

First time I have ever complained to staff in a restaurant. The nachos were cheap supermarket types, with the burger cheese slice chucked on top and tasteless dips. I ordered the butcher's burger and they really did butcher principal of a burger. I requested medium rare and it came well cooked to the point the burger party would make a thud noise on the plate. The onion loaf was rock solid and would have been an ideal replacement Ice hokey puck. The burger sauce was salty and over powering. This is the first time I have ever refused to eat the rest of my plate. Once we complained we were treated like nothing was wrong and we were money grabbing. Very disappointing for the price of £17.15. On the plus side the chips are passable. Although a little salty. To the staff of miller, if you would like to be shown a proper stake house I would be happy to take you to one and show you how it should be done. You have my number :) .

100% Overrated. We do not go out a lot but thought we would treat ourselves. The starters were nice. However after asking for salad with the Steak we had green veg. My wife had a small disagreement with the waitress before she admitted they made a mistake. The meal was almost half way through by the time the salad was brought out. Both my burger and the Steak were hardly warm. At no point were we asked how our food was. When we gave feedback on the poor quality and our disappointment of the meal the Waitress simply said "OK I'll let them know". As we paid £75 for the meal I thought we should let the manager know. I don't believe she was that interested either. What a shame we wasted so much money on this place. Note the butter still not melted on the Steak just before it was finished!

My wife and I came for dinner a few days ago and would recommend The Miller and Carter, Swindon to anyone. The service was amazing and the food was exquisite. We both had the 3 course menu, the seasoned prawns and the calamari for starters and both were delicious, but the steak for a main was the best either of us have ever had, we both had the 12oz Ribeye, which melted in the mouth, we had one with the bernaise sauce and one with beef dripping, they both tasted out of this world. For pudding we shared the cookie dough pie with again was amazing. The staff were all very friendly and our server Aga was amazing, very friendly and informative and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be back again soon!

We enjoyed the ambience and the staff were professional and friendly. Our immediate impression was that we were going to enjoy our experience. The steaks were great. Excellent in fact. The blue cheese salad was good although the lettuce could have been cut into smaller portions. The chips were excellent but the creamed spinach was a little sour and needed more cream. The scallops were a disappointment because I think they were out in the oven with oil and were slightly burnt. Should have been delicately fried in a little butter. The dessert was very good but took a long time to arrive.
