Met a group of friends for a few drinks and some food on a Saturday evening. Not really sure if this place is trying to be a nightclub or a bar... it fails miserably at both. The music is too loud to have a conversation with anyone, yet not allowed to stand up/dance like a nightclub.
We'd finished our first round of drinks, so I went to the bar to order another round. Was told that it was table service only. I said that's fine, but we were not getting any table service. A waitress then approached me at the bar, so I ask her if I could order via her. Apparently I had to be sat down to order my drinks and couldn't do it via her despite her having a tablet & card machine on her. I sat back down, and waited another 10/15 minutes before another waitress came over and took our order.
Once we finally received our drinks, our old glasses were not taken away. We then decided to order food. The waitress came back saying one of choices was out of stock. Our next two choices were also out of stock, so settled on something we weren't particularly happy with.
Toilets weren't partially clean. In addition, there was a toilet attendant selling lolly pops/aftershave sprays... normally something expected in a nightclub, not in a tiny toilet where he completely takes up one of the two sinks setting up all his merchandise.
Overall not a positive experience, unsure why there was a huge queue of people outside...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe management here really lack common sense. Me and my friends booked for a bottomless brunch and specified that one member had a medical condition that prevented them from taking part. The online staff said this wasn't an issue and updated it on the system.
On arrival, we were told that the member could not sit on the same table due to their terms and conditions - eventhough we had informed them beforehand.
They were moved to another table, to shout across to their group which caused disruption to the other groups there.
We then approached the manager again, who was rude and said there was nothing she could do. We asked to move the table closer, she said no. They moved closer to not shout, got told to move back. They were then threatened to be removed from the bar completely.
The manager, who didn't know how to resolve a simple problem then went to get the owner - who simply said, sit at the table it isn't an issue. At least someone has common sense.
The drink service, after 15 minutes of distribution and arguments, was actually quite good. But if you've got any disability requirements, be prepared to sit across the room and be dealt with a rude attitude from the manager.
Props to the servers and other members of the team, who were far more...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhen we first arrived, we were shown to a table. That threw me a little as it's my first time here, as we are not from Swindon.
Once seated, we wanted to get a drink and then realised it was a table service. Which is good in a sense. You know your drinks will be safe, but it did take a little while before we were served. The waitress did give me a bit of a weird look, which made me feel uncomfortable, but after that, the service was good. They kept coming over and making sure all was OK.
I liked it here, but you couldn't really hear each other talk. It's pretty loud. We were on a hen do with family, which I haven't seen in a while, but we were looked after. We were even moved to the back area where there was more room, and it was a little less noisy.
There is also an area at the bottom of the bar where you can go and vape and smoke, which is great as it meant you didn't have to keep leaving the premises.
The food was OK. We just had curly fries, but some were a little hard. But all good, though. The drinks were reasonably priced, it was buy two for a £10. So, five pounds each is not too bad.
The loos were clean and tidy, too. Bonus. All in all, it was a decent place. Would I...
